Nice araea in the middle of downtwon accross from Tech museum and Fairmont Hotel. Nice place to eat your lunch downtown. Big trees, nice grass areas. GREAT FOUNTAIN for young and old to play in (especially on a warm day). Jazz festivals, Christmas in the Park, and more happen here.

Grab a blanket and just watch the people, head to the Grill on the Alley at the Fairmont when you get thirsty for the best happy hour in town.

Small and sweet is what this park is. Smacked in the middle of Downtown, San Jose, so it is a great place to chill and meet up with friends before heading out to your final destination.

On the north end of the park is where the stage is and where Music in the Park is set up during the summer. The south end is a big statue of a serpent called, "The Plumed Snake".

I have crossed here many times. Haven't been to Music in the Park yet and not planning on it since I heard bad vibes about it. However, during Christmas is where you need to be. "Christmas in the Park" is what you call Christmas spirit and it really does left up your spirits even though it's really cold out! =)

Every Thursday June - August at Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose they have "Music in the Park." We went last night for the first time and had an awesome time! There were two bands who played and both bands were excellent. We were surprised that the place wasn't packed. The people there were very low-key and pleasant to be around, no trouble anywhere. They had a lot of security at the park which probably helps keep the event a great "family" outing. They sell wine and beer and some food there. The beer is $7 so I'm sure the inflated price is way of keeping people from drinking too much! This is a fun, free venue that we highly recommend. (In fact, we drove 90 miles to go and it was well worth the drive.)
