We stayed here on Jan 17th, room 9 on one of our wine tasting trips. The room is very small, about 10 by 15 feet total. This is NOT a bad thing. It was like a small cottage. But this one also had a small private Jacuzzi in the back patio area, which was awesome in the mornings and night. One thing is there is an excessive amount of wall paper, which get a bit overdone, but no big deal, again its like a cottage. There is also a very nice gas fireplace in the room, very nice touch. It actually took the morning chill out of the air very quickly. Yes, this room is a bit more then the non-Jacuzzi rooms, but it was worth it for us.
The property is very eclectic. A cool water wheel is on the property and a great piece of history.
At check in, we were given each a glass of wine, perfect way to check in. Then we went straight to their free happy hour which the wine kept our glasses full. They also have apple cider, coffee, hot chocolate, etc., available in the lobby most of the time.
There is also a great restaurant on the property which served excessive amounts of food. We could only eat half of each of our breakfast. We heard you must eat there and everyone was correct.
When we check in, I told the Front Desk person we had 7 cases of wine in our car. I asked if it would be safe to leave it in our car overnight. She said no problem and also made sure we could park in front of our cottage room, just to make sure. There were no issues at all.
We heard about this place from several of the wineries in the area. Also our best friends were just there in December and spoke very highly of it. Everyone was right about this place.
We will be going back again.

Room Tip: go for the Jacuzzi cottages.

I hope you like daisies, roses and all things floral, because this place is covered, top to bottom, side to side in floral everything. Not really my thing (being a guy and all) but it doesn't feel old and stuffy, it feels well maintained and up-to-date for a country style Inn. The place is great. We stayed in a 'Trellis Court King with Hot tub' room, which had a four poster canopy bed and a small patio with a good sized, clean, very warm hot tub. Nice touch.
The bed was very comfortable.
Bathroom was clean and the shower was decent pressure.
Was dissapointed at first, not to be able to order bacon & eggs for in-room breakfast, so ordered the offering of fresh baked goods with coffee and fruit with yogurt. Wow , it was good! The baked goods were still warm from the oven and we especially enjoyed the blueberry muffin. I recommend only ordering one tray per couple - we ordered two trays and it was way too much food. Just ask for extra drinks instead.
Overall, we liked the place and will come back again.

Room Tip: This place is well priced anyway, so spending a little extra on a bigger room, or getting a hot tub...

My husband and I have always loved the Apple Farm, and over the past 20 years have stayed here for special occasions maybe 5 times. We've stayed in rooms in the inn, the Mill House, and the Trellis Court. This past weekend we spent one night in the Trellis Court in a queen room with outdoor hot tub, room 9. No denying, the room is tiny. But we'd spent a night once before in a queen Trellis Court room, and so we knew what to expect. The larger rooms will be found in the inn or else the Mill House (the MH rooms were closed for renovation this past weekend). We really loved using the hot tub at night.

Our only complaint concerns the hot tub - the tub itself was clean but the surrounding wooden porch structure it's on didn't appear to have been cleaned. There were 2 plastic stacking chairs there, and they were still stacked and obviously unwashed. So we couldn't use them for sitting or as a place to put the robes (provided by Apple Farm) while we were in the hot tub. We put down a towel from our room on the ground and put our robes on the towel, but because the water in the tub was so high we ended up splashing so much water over the sides just getting in and out, that the robes got wet.

Anyway, other than that, we loved it. It's lovely to sit up in bed and watch the fireplace. The bed was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. I had told them while booking over the phone that it was our anniversary, and they left a small gift and card to wish us happy anniversary. The bathroom was small, but by putting the coffee maker on the floor, left us with plenty of room to put down our toiletries. I'm also always happy when a hotel provides four bath towels.

We love the restaurant, and stop there often when passing through SLO.

I'd say the Apple Farm is an inn with tons of potential for the future. Right now it's true that the decor looks a little dated, but it doesn't look TIRED, if you know what I mean. I also understand they're in the process of updating all their rooms. We're in our 50s, and that heavy-duty country look was very new when we first started coming back in the 80s and 90s, but of course out of style nowadays. Even still, the place is so cozy and welcoming that I just love it.

Thank you for your review and your many stays with us over the years. We love to hear the feedback of longtime guests like yourselves. We are glad that you enjoyed your most recent stay with us in our Trellis Court. As you mentioned, we are in the process of renovating much of our property right now and updating it to a more contemporary design while still maintaining our cozy country charm. We can't wait for you to see the new rooms as they are completed. Thank you for letting us know about the hot tub space. We will be sure to pass on your comments to our housekeeping staff so that we can retrain them on this. We look forward to welcoming you for many stays in the future.

We took my mom here to celebrate her birthday. She loved it. The concierge was great, friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel was so cute and decorated for Christmas. The room was neat, clean and had a fireplace and beautiful bay type window with a creek alongside. My only recommendation would be to stay on the top floor of the main building, because otherwise all you here is foot traffic above your head. Other than that it was a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Stay on the top floor

From check in to check out we were treated to excellent hospitality by all staff. Nice quiet fireplace rooms with frig. Nice touch with all the holiday decorations. Rooms were furnished and finished to the max. bordering on too much but not crowded. Homey feel throughout. Snacks and wine in the evening was a plus. Food at the restaurant was very good as well. Close to Hwy 101 but heard nothing in back rooms. Will recommend and return.

Room Tip: Go for the newer rooms in the back of the complex.

We had the best ever stay for New Year's with Apple Farm and the SLO Symphony. The concierge sent a link and we were able to have Orchestra center second row seats for a wonderful genuinely warm concert. The wine tasting was also memorable along with the social hour each night,at the property, of our stay. The front office staff, restaurant staff, bakery staff, gift shop staff and room service staff was also so very special that it is impossible to say who was the best!

Room Tip: Third floor Creek Side rooms

We stayed here for one night - arriving late. Our travel agent had messed up on our booking and the hotel staff did all that they could to sort the problem. Complimentary glass of wine, mulled cider, tea and cheese scones available at reception. Rooms and hotel decor is quite twee. Restaurant breakfast was the best I ate all holiday. Mind that the restaurant is separate to the hotel so you may need to wait for a table, even at breakfast ( but it's worth the wait).
