Owner description: Want a piece of ABC gum? Head to this fascinating, if somewhat unsanitary, walkway that features walls covered with gum of the "already been chewed" variety.

“Say it ain't so...”
Reviewed 8 April 2014

After I moved away, I had heard a rumor they were thinking of getting rid of this famous (or infamous) alley. Really? One of the greatest holders of our memories? Sure, it is not the most hygenically appealing spot in SLO, but IT IS HISTORY PEOPLE! As things have changed in SLO to push it closer to a bigger town, some of the small town history is forgotten or torn down. We are not the only place in the US that has this, I am pretty sure.

Leave some history for the next generation to continue and the present generation to remember. Oh, and this goes without saying...no ABC gum sampling. Trust me on this! :-)

“What a Hoot”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Not very sanitary but fun to see a block long alley with gum stuck on every inch of the wall both sides 9/10 feet high. Lots of gum

“Needs to be seen”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

Yuck... yet cool as can be. It is fun to take in the color and absurdity of this short alley. You'd probably be wise NOT to touch anything, but it is worth seeing.

It was kinda gross but pretty neat at the same time to see messages and see all the different places people came from to see the ally

“Homeless Night Time Bathroom”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Dirty and disgusting. The local homeless population use the ally as a bathroom. The ally should be closed and cleaned up. It was novel idea about 30 years ago.
