This hike is well worth it! It isn't that long but is fairly challenging. The views are fantastic even halfway up!

Bishop's Peak Hike is a must see if you are visiting San Luis Obispo. It is not an easy hike, but well worth it. This was my fiance's first hike, and she was able to do it without a problem. The views from the trail are amazing. You get a great 360 view of San Luis Obispo and surrounding area's. Parking for the trailhead is along a neighborhood street and fills up quickly. So get there early or else you will be taking a strenuous hike just to get to the trailhead. The only downside was a lack of trail markers. There are some other paths that go off the main trail which just dead end. But if you just stay on the larger trail, you should be fine. At the top of the trail you will find a couple benches to take a rest and look out over the town. Be careful if you decide to adventure on the boulders at the peak, as there were reports of other hikers getting seriously injured or killed when slipping off the boulders. As long as you stay on the trail, you will be safe. An absolute must see.

Bishop Peak is a great moderate hike almost everyone can enjoy. The first time I went up it was a little tough. I was carrying alot of extra weight.Once I got in better shape it is not bad at all.The trails up to the peak are beautiful. Always great weather. If you are going to be in the area, give it a try.

Love Bishop's peak. Growing up in SLO, this mountain has been an important part of my life. From hiking for fitness, meditation or the sunrise, this mountain has many seasons, phases and special memories. Beautiful, majestic and magical.

Bishop Peak provides a wonderful hike setting very close to town. The view is wonderful with benches at the top. As mentioned in another person's review, the very poor signage/directions prevented a five star rating. We made a couple of incorrect choices before some "locals" put us on the right path. Once we found the main route all was well. I look forward to a repeat hike without the diversions.
