“Very Nice Place to Stay”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

My husband and I have stayed here twice now, about a year apart. Both times we were entirely satisfied. Convenient to the freeway, yet very quiet and peaceful. Not a cookie-cutter place; a bit quirky and charming. Immaculately clean. We like the rear units which are backed by a green belt area, and have nice patios.

Room Tip: Although a bit more expensive, the rooms in the back are the nicest.

Great location, great hospitality, rooms are nice. Newly appointed rooms are in the back and quiet however, small but quaint and beds were a little hard four our taste..not a Marriott quality but okay if you have less back issues and are less picky. Don't expect much of their continental breakfast. We opted to eat out on Sunday a.m. as the offerings were slim as we found out on Saturday a.m.

All in all though, I would stay there again, possibly bringing a foam topper if I were to stay more than a night or two.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back of the property are off the street and quiet and more private. Rooms 141 And 142 a...

We stayed at the Peach Tree Inn over school break and I thought it was a decent place, the furnishing and bedding were a bit dated but it was functional and comfortable room. The breakfast was very good for a free meal, flavorful coffee, fresh fruit, pastries and delicious oatmeal. On the second night the people next door were talking loudly around 2 p.m. and you could here through the walls but other than that we enjoyed our stay. My daughter found their free movie lending library and she enjoyed watching a show, a nice touch.

Room Tip: My sister's family stayed in back and it was a more up to date room and she said it was very qui...

What I like about this property is that it has porches, swings and adirondack chairs you can escape to. Being an early riser, I could have a nice continental breakfast, read the paper on the porch, swing on swing or relax in comfy chairs, all surrounded by a beautiful view without waking the rest of my group up. For the price, the value is great. Location is good, close enough for our visit to Cal Poly, which was our mission for this trip. Now the room we got was very small, two double beds ontop of each other, huge big screen TV was a nice upgrade.
The room was nice and clean, but reaked of Pine Sol or some cleaner like that, the smell was overwhelming at first, but we got used to it. Since we did not get in until 8:00PM, we just wondered what the smell was covering up. If it was not for the smell, I would have given this a 4 stars. Now, in all fairness, we were supposed to be in a nice room at the far back up against the creek and they did reserve one for us, but we needed to switch to a room with two beds and the one we had reserved was a single King bed. Final note, don't eat at the Apple Inn next door, it was convenient, but our food was marginal at best, worse meatloaf I have ever had.....now if you are there for desert only, this is a good place

Room Tip: Rooms in the far back up against the creek are supposed to be the best, it looked like it too. We w...

We frequent SLO many times a year but this was the first time staying at Peach Tree Inn and we were not disappointed. When making reservations for our most recent stay, we were concerned that our usual hotels were fully booked and Peach Tree Inn was not booked at the time, but we did luck out was another option in SLO. The staff were courteous and attentive, the rooms were clean and well maintained (though a little updating would help), the location prefect for walking into downtown SLO, and the breakfast did the job.

My only comment (and not really a big deal) is they brought a whole new definition to a "low flow showerhead". I support water conservation (especially with our current drought), but I have never experienced what I would consider a "almost no-flow showerhead".

We plan on staying at Peach Tree again in late April '14 (SLO Marathon) and we will not be disappointed!

Over recent years we have stayed in both the rooms in the upper area but the best of the best are the Creek Side rooms. In staying here, I have met and enjoyed the owner, managers and service people who are responsible for making this destination what it is. The breakfast buffet which is great in itself is a place where I've met and visited with people from several foreign countries and of course, the USA. The informal seating areas have table top glass covers displaying smiling faces of happy travelers, who have sent back photos taken while there. The lounge area makes for early morning time to become fully awake, and to plan out the day so as not to miss anything while in SLO.

The Creek Side Rooms we've stayed in each have a balcony and seating area to enjoy the tranquility of the wooded creek below us. The birds flitting about or waterfowl sailing overhead make bird watching fun. And then there are the pleasant chirping sounds together with the creek flowing by which mix to tranquilize even the most uptight visitor.

San Luis Obispo in day or by night is a place to find many great eateries. For entertainment, there are so many things to do. It's a quaint college town and it evokes a feeling of youth, vitality and culture. If one is up to it, walk from the motel to downtown. Otherwise drive there and park in the city parking sites and take more limited, adventuresome walks. Enjoy also the street farmers market. But when the day ends for us, it is a great treat to return Creek side, open the slider wide and enjoy a romantic evening together, which is why we are there.

Room Tip: Again, reserve one of the great Creek side rooms. Me being an early riser, I recommend among other...

Love, love , love this place. Although this is an older property, it is impeccably maintained. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The owner, Floyd, planted roses throughout the property and maintains them. Totally not necessary but very nice touch and reflects the care he and his wife put into the place. Great value. Great place. Will stay there again if I'm in the area and definitely would recommend it.
