“Some exceptional, some need work”

We ate dinner on their patio on a hot spring evening. Server was outstanding. Wine = also outstanding. Spring rolls with two sauces were some of the best ever - great choice on a warm evening. The Malaysian chicken curry was pasty, a sure sign it had been in the pot over heat too long - very disappointing!

“An unexpected delight!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

What a delightful place to luncheon along by the creek. Located on Higuera, among the shops, one doesn't expect such a tranquil lunch setting exists to the rear of the restaurant. We have eaten there many times and the staff are consistently fabulous. The food is delicious - always and all in all, just one of our favourite places for lunch in SLO.

“Enjoyable creekside dinner under the stars.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

This is a novel establishment as most of the tables are outside along a pretty creek (as you might guess from the name). We had reservations and scored a table right on the edge of the deck by the creek. They have patio style heaters (too hot for me), for the hardy souls that wish to eat outside. The atmosphere was definitely party like. Dinner started with a spinach salad with candied pecans (shared as it was generious and tasty). I decided on two small plates for the second course. The menu has lots of interesting options with both small plates and regular entrees. One of the small plates was a spring rolls option that came with two dipping sauces (soy and tandoori), the second was a samosas plate with two dipping sauces mint and yogurt. The spring rolls were quite a bit larger in diameter than I was used to and were difficult to eat, although quite fresh and tasty. The samosas had a good spicy flavor, definitely my favorite. My sweetheart had the Moroccan chicken entrée and enjoyed every bite. The service staff was attentive and very gluten free knowledgeable. It was an enjoyable evening meal under the stars.

“Lovely location for a nice meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2014

Three of us had a gal's getaway in lovely San Luis Obispo. I had read about Novo on TripAdvisor, and thought it would be a nice place to have lunch on a beautiful sunny day. That was an excellent decision. The food was very good and service outstanding. Loved sitting by the stream watching the ducks swimming by and resting in the sun. Since Novo is very popular and the tables are close together, the noise level was a little high The highlight of the meal was the delicious coffee--so good I asked for the name and where they purchased it. Coastal Peaks, a local coffee house. Had to buy some!

Went once for lunch, had the lettuce wraps with flat iron steak, perfect. Had the carrot cheesecake for dessert - the best I have ever eaten! Went for dinner, had the salmon bisque and calamari - perfect. Loved the wine (local) really enjoyed my meal. Was with a group and service was great, thanks!
