This place is certainly an experience, you have to see the decor ! It was just along from out hotel, we spotted in passing, looked at reviews when we got to the hotel, then decided to walk along and give it a go.

It is certainly a 'one off' type of establishment, it's always good to see something very different from the the normal places. The service was good, the food excellent, and size of the slice of cake enormous. We had already decided to share the cake anyway, but the waitress delivered a box at the outset, she said she thought we would need it, she was right ! The prices are perhaps a bit higher than I would normally pay, but feel it worth it to experience the place.

Never said in a review that you should also go to the bathroom / toilet, but you must if only to see the carved wood staircases and hanging fruit chandeliers ! (see pictures) We had an excellent window seat looking out onto a water feature with coloured lighting, which was ideal because we went in there just before dusk.

Certainly a place worth experiencing if only because it's so different, certainly a one off establishment.

I sometimes stopped here on my way from L. A. to San Francisco and vice versa. The food is always delicious. I usually sat at the round copper counter and many times struck up a conversation with my neighbor. It is a friendly place...usually a little higher-priced than usual but delicious. I love the copper counter and warm feeling of this place. You really should see this place and peek in some of the outrageous rooms. Have never stayed there overnight so don't know the prices but it is a memorable place. It does have a lovely gift shop with some very nice and unique clothing.

We drove by the Madonna Inn at night and boy did it look like something! The next day we asked a local where we should go to see something like a local landmark and he recommended the Madonna Inn. We walked into the Copper Café and were greeted in a friendly way and were advised there was a wait or we could eat at the counter. Not sure what to expect other than hearing that the bathrooms were a sight to see (and they were fancy) we sat down to the copper counter. We noticed the beautiful display of cakes as we walked in and decided to have cake for lunch even though their menu looks like it offers just about everything you can think of. The cake was 4 layers but light and delicious! I had the Pink Champagne cake and my husband had the Raspberry Cream, both were yummy.

After cake, we checked out the bathrooms, upper gift shop and lower wine shop. Just walking around and looking at the different dining rooms was an experience in itself. As someone who appreciates history, I'm so glad to find places like the Madonna Inn still thriving, it's like opening a time capsule to the 1950's. Very fun and very pink.

I had not been here in over 20 years. Nothing has really changed but the prices (it was always a bit overpriced). We had breakfast. The food was good and so was the service, but you really go for the outrageous decor.

We ate here for breakfast rather than trek into town. It's affordable, and big, but nothing special.
