Very nice room. clean and comfortable. Great free breakfast. Close to great restaurants and shopping, especially the Mexican restaurant right across the street. Small quaint town. We will stay here again!

My family and I made a quick visit to San Luis Obispo and stayed one night. Our room had 2 queen sized beds which was great for the 4 of us. The room was very clean and well- stocked with towels and toiletries. There was a microwave, a refrigerator, a coffee maker, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer. We wanted a quiet room so chose one upstairs along the interior corridor. We originally were assigned to one on the outside corridor but the traffic noise was too loud. Our room was quiet just like we wanted it to be. Breakfast was served in the morning and consisted of make-your-own waffles, cereal, toast, coffee, and juice. It was good for a continental breakfast.

I researched on TripAdvisor for a hotel that was cheap and a high rating for my stay here to visit my girlfriend which she goes to Cal Poly.

I booked the hotel through "Choice Hotels" and it cost me around $70 for a one night stay there. I called in and asked if I could check in earlier and they said it was ok. I came in around 1:45PM instead of the 3:00PM check in time they had on their system.

The thing I didn't like was because I got the cheapest room means I had to go in the hotel across the street. That was my only concern because that means if I wanted to get the breakfast, I'd have to cross the streets. The hotel is two buildings. I suggest you pay a little more to avoid having to cross the street to check in/out and get the breakfast.

We arrived at our room and it was very clean, the bathroom was alot bigger than most hotels I've stayed at. The blankets in the bed could've been more layers or thicker because the blankets were too little for us and next time we might need to bring our own blanket. Two pillows was also too little for us.

The shower was SUPER hot and warm and we loved it, but also, they didn't have many towels for us to use. The heater in the room wasn't very strong when we put it to max and it was a slow heater. Also, because our room didn't have a refrigerator, we filled our sink with ice and stuffed out bottles of water and drinks in there to keep it nice and cold, neat idea right?

When we started to sleep we were able to hear the TV from the other rooms but it wasn't so bad because only if we tried we could hear it but we were able to sleep through the night peacefully.

Breakfast was from 6:30am - 9:30am and it was awfully early for us because were just teens and we like to sleep in. But we made it on time at 9:00am before it closed up. They had cereal, waffle makers, bread, sour dough bread, jam, and butter.

The thing I disliked most was their drinks. They put the milk and juice outside in a big container where it can get warm. Ewww, who wants to drink the milk or juice that left outside in the warm room. That made me feel like going back to making my refrigerator sink.

We checked out at 11:00am and we were able to sleep fine for the night. Overall, they had a lot of flaws but it was still a great stay for the price of only $70 a night (tax included). I just wish our room was in the same building as the breakfast and check in hall though.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn &Suites Lamplighter during graduation weekend at Cal Poly, where every hotel room in town was sold out. For such a hectic weekend, we found the staff to be very courteous, friendly, and efficient. Our room was on the third floor in the main building, which is the updated wing. The room was moderate in size. It was clean, nicely furnished, and included a microwave and refrigerator. At times, we could hear the guests in the next room, but generally it was quiet. The continental breakfast was continuously monitored and replenished by the staff, which kept all the guests happy.
We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again.

This motor inn was OK for our one-night stopover, but the price, at $90, seemed high for a dressed up old motel with oddities.

Our queen-bed room, on the third floor of the annex, was comfortable but small. The bathroom, on the other hand, was large but empty. Only a toilet and a shower stall. The room smelled of disinfectant, which did not dissipate easily even with the windows open all night. The bed was adequate, if a little hard.

The room was located in an annex to the motel -- actually a separate building across a side street. This was odd, more so because the annex is nestled among private homes. The benefit was that the night was very quiet and the area felt secure. In contrast, the motel's main building fronts onto a very busy road.

Interior details suggested that both buildings are fairly old but recently renovated. The buildings' age may have something to do with a prominent sign outside the lobby that warned guests "This facility contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and reproductive harm." (See the photo attached to this review.) This notice also appeared in the motel's information book. Since we had not seen such a notice at any other motel during our trip, we found it a little disconcerting.

The provided breakfast was very good. It is laid out in a nice room off the lobby. An attendant kept everything in order.

Overall, not a bad stay. But for the same price, we felt that something better might be found in San Luis Obispo.

Went to San Luis to check out Cal Poly, stayed here for a weekend. Good location, right by Poly and the downtown area. We were in a room in the main new-ish building with a balcony over the pool courtyard. The pool and jacuzzi area was a very nice hang out spot for the family. The room was clean and adequately sized, with good beds. Needed more pillows, though. Continental breakfast with WAFFLES was better than usual. When we checked in, there was free popcorn in the lobby... yum! And the kids at the front desk were quite nice and knowledgeable about the area. Some rooms seem to be in an older building across the street, so if you want to be by the pool and lobby, ask to be put in the main building.
