We stayed at La Cuesta on our drive home to LA from San Francisco. So happens it was New Years Eve. We were pleased with our choice.

La Cuesta has a nice charm to it. The rooms are spacious and clean (although I did spot a little mold in the bathroom). The balconies off of the room is an added bonus. We also enjoyed having a DVD player in which you can get movies from the lobby to view.

When we arrived, cookies and tea were available in the lobby for guests--a nice touch. Continental breakfast is served from 6 - 10 a.m. Unfortunately, we slept in and missed the breakfast so I can't comment on the food.

It's just a straight shot into to town. We didn't go exploring this time around, but we've visited San Luis Obispo before and there is a lot to see and do. We did notice the trolley at the hotel that will take you into downtown.

The next time we visit, we'll definitely stay at this hotel.

Stayed at La Cuesta one night while moving my daughter to school. I was very pleased with the accomodations and will definitely stay there again. Front desk staff was very efficient and pleasant. The bed was comfortable. The room had 3 chairs, which was appreciated. Also had four lamps. Bathroom looked like it was updated recently, with nice vanity top, new tile floor and shower head. Towels were fluffy. A nice touch was the little rubber duck that was sitting on the folded bathmat when I opened the shower curtain. Definitely made me smile. There was an I-Home clock radio. Continental breakfast had many choices, though nothing unusual, and they serve tea and cookies from 3-6 in the afternoon. Seemed like they paid a lot of attention to detail for a hotel in this price range.

I had to go to San Luis Obispo for a job interview.

I had just finished a 12 hour night shift and rented a car and drove over 4 hours to get there.

Despite being knacered the front office was very polite and I checked into an immaculate room.

It was advertised it had a balcony. Some rooms have chairs and a view. Mine was about 2 feet square wo a chair and a view of a tree. No biggie.

A fridge, free DVDs downstairs, a DVD player, great TV, firm bed, good climate control.

I am a day sleeper, and awoke at 0600, HUNGRY, their Costco style continental breakfast was fine, freshe bagels, yogurt, great coffee.

In the afternoon tea and coffee and cookies.

The front lobbie has free local papers, scads of things to do and the staff are very knowledgeable as to where to go, what to eat, what to do and are rightfully proud of this loveley area.

You can see mountains, birds of prey from the hotel. A short drive to the Pacific.

Diving, surfing, swimming, live entertainment, kayaking, horse riding, hearst castle etc.

A convenient location, really clost to Cal Poly and the freeway.

If I need to go to SLO again, this is the place to stay.

You would pay twice more for this kind of lodging in Monterey.

We stay at the La Cuesta Inn whenever we head to San Luis. (A few times a year). It's a very well staffed hotel with a great attention to detail. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are open and airy. Be sure to ask for a room with a balcony. The bathrooms are very nicely done in black granite with great showers.

The morning breakfast is always good, with excellent coffee! Each afternoon tea, iced tea and cookies are set out for guests as well. They have a great selection of DVD's you can rent and take to your room to watch on huge flat screen TV's. We've stayed at quite a few other hotels in SLO, and the La Cuesta is by far the most layed back, clean and relaxing place.

This was the second time I stayed here. If you book on their website, it's the cheapest way. Rooms are really nice but you want to stay away from the Hwy 101 side. The staff are friendly and they have a decent buffet in the morning. Within walking distance of Cal Poly and you can take the trolley downtown for dinner and shopping. I stay there whenever I'm in SLO.

Three of us stayed for 4 nights while visitng colleges. What a pleasant find in San Luis Obispo! Our room was good size, with two queen beds, very clean and efficiently. The staff was very friendly and helpful to everyone.

A hearty continental breakfast is served with every morning, with waffles, juice, bagels, toast, coffee, yogurt and cereal, which was continually being re-stocked and cleaned by the staff during service. They also service afternoon tea and cookies was lots of fun also.

The La Cuesta Inn is centrally located, right off the freeway, great location and great bargain. We will definitely be back, and gladly recommend this to anyone that wants a pleasant travel experience.
