“Great Staff”

I was staying in this hotel for a weekend and was greatly surprised by how friendly and helpful the front desk staff was. Daniel was there to check me in and let me know about the delicious restaurant next door, you have to try the Margies mushroom omelette, and Mary was there to tell me about some wonderful shopping in downtown while I enjoyed some complimentary coffee. They were both so helpful and made my stay that much better!

We've stayed here twice in the past year. It's an older hotel, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. All rooms have a flat screen TV, small fridge, microwave and blow dryer. There is free WiFi, although our experience was that it was reliable about 50% of the time. No coffee maker in the room, but there is free coffee available 24/7 in the lobby. The pool and 25 person spa is probably the best amenity: relaxing, clean, quiet, with waterfalls, grass, chairs and picnic tables. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are reasonable priced for the area. Walking distance to Margie's Diner. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Bottom floor rooms have sliding glass doors, second story rooms have small balconies.

We stayed at the Rose Garden Inn for one night on our drive up the PCH. It is an old and a bit run down hotel but fit the basic needs of an overnight stay. The bed was surprisingly comfortable but the sheets and comforter were very old and had holes. I think it is time to invest in some new ones. Our sink and shower definitely showed their age. We could never get hot water in the sink and the drain wouldn’t shut. It was stuck at half shut/half open. The shower had a constant drip that if the bathroom door was left open would drive you crazy. The room was clean and fair in size with a microwave and fridge but the fridge was the noisiest fridge ever. It was making clanking and swishing noises all night so I didn’t sleep very well. The “spa” area was very nice. There is a decent size pool with a 9’ deep end. It isn’t heated so we didn’t swim as it was too cold. The hot tub is large and nice. The waterfall is separate from the spa and is very cold water. The staff woman at check-in was very friendly and helpful, even though we waited for 5 minutes while she argued with a caller about an over change of room rate. The check-out staff woman only asked if I wanted a receipt and that was it, no "thank you", nothing. She was a bit cold and unwelcoming. Overall it was an average stay. The price was right and if they would modernize a few things this place could be great.

We've stayed here multiple times over the past few years when visiting our daughter at Cal Poly. It's very reasonable priced and has always been clean and comfortable. A little older but we've been consistently happy with it!

my husband and I spend two nights at this very comfortable, clean, beautiful, quiet, hotel.the pool and hot tub are great for relaxing. rooms are big and the balcony is perfect. what I really liked, was the secure feeling, no body can get into the hotel, without a keycard. beds are comfortable, not to soft, nor to hard. the grounds are well taken care of, this will be our hotel from now on,when we are in slo. we can wholehartingly recommend this hotel to anyone. mahalo dieter & Karin may ps there is very little noise from the freeway, at any time.stayed from 05/22/2014 - to 05/24/2014.

Room Tip: the upper rooms overlooking the pool area, one can leave the sliding door open, there is very littl...

This motel is a older, but in good condition. We liked the pool area, and the excellent hot tub. It is landscaped to look like a mini volcano with a water fall. The cement tub is large enough for several people and the temperature was good. The room was average, but large enough to not feel crowed. It was very quiet inside. The hall ways had air fresheners that had a hint of roses. We thought it was a nice touch. The adjoining 50's style cafe was good too. Prices were a little high, but the quality and quantity of the breakfasts was excellent. The motel is located close to the freeway, but far enough back to not have to deal with a lot of noise. It's in a nice neighborhood with some other newer chain motels. We were very happy we made the choice to stay here.

Great place, I have stayed here several times. I keep coming back because the location is perfect and the huge hot tub is the best!! Newly remodeled rooms are great. I would have left 5 stars but the rooms need to have a coffee maker in them. Also it would be nice if the downstairs rooms closest to the pool were the King rooms. All the King rooms are on the outside instead of inside. Other that that I love it.
