“Reliable italian food”

Nice atmosphere, good service. Calzones are excellent (like NY). Eggplant parmagiana-like dish is great too. most things we've tried are solid.

“Good italian fare”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

Good menu, however very limited low-calorie, non-cheese fare. Good ambiance and wine list and easy accessibility. Just wish there was more grilled options than all cheese and non-whole wheat pasta selections.

“Very, very good”
Reviewed 22 December 2012

I really enjoyed Capellini. The food and service were both very good. The bruschetta, antipasto, Caesar salad and veal piccata were all excellent. The bar was colorful and full of interesting people. Would definitely recommend.

“Great location near CalTrain, various seating options.”
Reviewed 14 November 2012

As other restaurants have entered the local scene, this no longer stands out for the food quality, but it's good. The interior mezzanine, with stair access only, overlooks the main floor dining room, kitchen, and bar. Great "bird's eye view" with slightly slower service. The basement area has a private dining room which can be booked for groups.

The Caesar salad dressing is excellent-just garlicky enough. House bread is always a plus here. Traditional pastas are available as well as meat & fish entrees. Pizza too. Carpaccio is a popular appetizer. Veal Piccata was a bit over-cooked last time.

Overall, this is reliably good but not innovative or superb food.

“Sempre un piacere .... Salut!”
Reviewed 23 September 2012

I have been to Capellinis about 3 times. Once for a Group Luncheon, Once for Happy Hour at the Bar with Friends and Dinner last Night. All have been a Wonderful Experience. If you are looking for a quick Dinner, this is not the place. Stay and enjoy the experience.

Very Classic looking restaurant in a beautiful building and very well lit for the ambiance make for a great setting. Whether you are here with a Business Associate, Date or a Nice Family Dinner ... This is the perfect place.

Great Wine List ranging from low to high. Attentive wait staff. I was very impressed with all the attention we received for a Saturday Evening by many refilling water glasses, taking finished plates when I was done and they kept asking if we wanted more bread (yes I love my bread). We also asked for Balsamic Vinaigrette along with the Olive Oil already on the table as we enjoy dipping our bread in the mixer. It arrived in less than a minute. Pepe our waiter was very attentive coming by every so often.

The Dinner menu was of great selections along with the Specials but we opted for the regular Dinner Menu for all but 1 item. Started off with the Insalata con Pera (pear salad). Arrived about 8 minutes later. Yum!, unless you are of a nut allergy was wonderful. After a brief less than 10 minutes our Main Entree' arrived. We selected the Risotto con Gamberetto (on the special menu) which was Italian Arborio rice with prawns fresh tomatoes, fennel and leeks and the Scaloppine di Vitello con Funghi (Veal Medallion sauteed with Mushrooms and Vermouth with sauteed Veggies. Both Wonderful and Delicious!

We didn't stay for dessert which I would have probably killed for a Tiramisu and Cappuccino but we opted to have coffee and dessert at home.

Mostly Adults but did see one table with very well behaved children. Parking is somewhat a challenge but they do offer Valet Service. I don't like to rush my food when enjoying a great dinner. Think we lasted about 1 hour 20 min with just the Salad and Entree.
