“Super scrumptious seafood!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We just had some Cajun seafood at this place, and it was delicious. Our family went here to try it out (since it's a new spot in town), and we were glad we did! You basically order the food (crab, oyster, lobster, crawfish, etc.) and tell them what flavor you want (boiled, cajun, lemon, or garlic butter) and how spicy you want it. Then it comes out in a giant bag bucket and you dig in. We got an order of Dungeness crab (2 lbs, in garlic butter, mild) and a pound of shrimp (cajun style, medium spicy) and it was very tasty. We also had gumbo soup, Cajun fries, sweet potato fries, house noodles, and cajun chicken wings, all of which was quite good as well (the noodles had a very good flavor to them). The service was great, and I was impressed that the servers all wore wireless earpieces to instantly communicate with the kitchen - nice use of technology. It's quite a finger-lickin' mess as you eat all this food, so I was glad to use the plastic gloves they provided to help reduce the splatter on the hands. All in all, it was a great meal. We will be coming back and bringing our friends for sure.

“Good Food Strange plastic bag service”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Food is really tasty, I had house salad, fried alligator, and craw fish in Cajun sauce, with the explosive sauce. Spicy but not hot for your average chile head. The shellfish is all sold by the pound, and is served in a plastic bag. This is very weird and I was not keen on being served in bags.

Wife had Cajun sauce shrimp medium heat, good but not great. These are also served head on, shell on and real messy to eat, also served in a plastic bag. Just so messy to eat, must have went thru 100 paper napkins from the dispenser on the table. Sweet potato fries very good.

Wine by the glass is house red or white, $7.50 a glass. Bottle beer reasonable. Parking is street and tuff to find in downtown San Mateo on Friday evening. The groupon $15 for $30 helped but with tip we still spent $60 after the $30 taken off top. Kinda pricey for food in a bag. They really need to class that up and serve in something other than a bag.

We passed on the crab at $40 per crab.

Service was ok. Might or might not return, let's see how others review and if they lose the plastic bags. This really did bother me as you can probably tell.
