The prawn and the vegetarian dishes were tasty with delicious creamy sauces. Accompanied with brown rice, chapati, and beers, the meal was just perfect. The ambiance was nice and the open roof made it cooler on this very hot evening. Impeccable service. I will return.

This is a very pleasant - nothing fancy place to eat some delicious Southern Indian street food, prepared in a healthy - low oil way. While the Dosa's are very good, I like to get the Thali - a plate with a variety of items to taste and enjoy. For the atmosphere - which is diner-esque - the price for the thali is a little high, but the food is delicious and I have always found the service to be excellent. The wine list is short but they serve Navarro wines, which is an excellent vineyard that only sells to restaurants and to indvidual purchasers. This is food you would not normally get a an Indian restaurant and well worth the trip to the "West End" of San Rafael. Parking is usually very easy at dinner time. This is not the place to go on a romantic date but definitely a fun place to explore the menu and have a good meal.

There is a store attached with a fair amount of organic foods.

Visited on a holiday weekend Sunday as a solo diner. Immediately seated and provided description of food: chaat - southern India's street food - is not common for US Indian restaurants, thus deserves a little introduction for most. Dosas and biryani also listed on menu. Advised if had "craving" for curry, the kitchen would make that as well. Excellent flexibility!

Decided to go with saag dosa (added paneer) which comes with a side of chutney and sambar (dipping soup) @ $14, a side of raita @ $2 and bottle of Kingfisher beer @ $4.25. Took a moment to peruse the Indian grocery and spice market adjacent; nice but limited selection. Food served about 5 or so minutes afterwards. Had requested for spicey end of medium and was slightly disappointed at the heat level. Positive had I asked, they would have accommodated with additional spices - just wasn't that important to create a sweat with more heat. Upside was it allowed me to more fully appreciate the flavors of everything.

Service was adequate, but the one main server was spread a bit thin amongst the 8 or 9 active tables. There was another fellow serving from the kitchen and clearing tables, but still, saw other tables encounter delays with payment, receiving menus, etc.

Large main dining room, nothing special in décor or ambiance; can get noisy. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Overall a pleasant experience. Staff friendly and helpful; food plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced; dining area clean and comfortable.

My husband and I stopped in here on our way through town on a rainy morning, because I had a craving for idli sambar. I was SO EXCITED to find a restaurant in the North Bay that has chaat (and a lot of vegan options)!

The restaurant is spacious and welcoming, and the food came out quickly. After we ate, we visited the attached shop to buy some yummy Indian treats and look at the selection of frozen and packaged foods available (including homemade idli batter). The staff was very nice, and overall we had a great visit, especially reminiscing about Goa with Elvis. Thank you!
