Although not the best neighborhood, once inside is like the perfect restaurant.
We ate outside looking at the San Rafael canal on a warm sunny day celebrating a friend's 87th birthday. Fair prices but cost of drinks drove up the price.

Went for lunch, sat one patio, 8 of us. It's a little noisy, and the view is not the greatest. The food and drinks were very good, the service was prompt. We had every thing from breakfast, to soup.
The only thing we didn't like was the clam chowder, but that is a personal taste, it has rosemary in it and I'm from New England.
The parking lot is very small they do have valet parking, so that helps.

Shared a great meal here with family, weather was beautiful so we ate on the outdoor dock. Service was great and food was good. Only comment is that restaurant needs updating and tables and chairs need to be replaced.

Excellent neighborhood restaurant in a commercial/industrial area. Our first attempt for dinner was thwarted by parking (or lack there of)! We were strongly advised to try again as a local told us it was worth it; which we did and we're very happy with the results. I started with a margarita (made from scratch, not a mix). Perfect! My husband had a short draft beer ($2!!). He had a special- pecan crusted filet of sole with roasted asparagus and smashed potatoes! WOW! Wonderful presentation, very light and flavorful. I had the spicy soup--beware--very large bowl and filling! Plenty of mussels, clams, calamari and veggies and spice! Not knowing I also had a seafood quesadilla. It was stuffed with cheese, loads of baby shrimp, tomatoes and onions. Very tasty sourdough bread and butter accompanied the meal. Reasonably priced, outdoor seating on the marina. Great meal, excellent waitress (Jessica). Well worth the off the beaten path trip! If you find yourself in San Rafael, do yourself a favor and stop in.

We were looking for a relaxed place to eat with a view of the water. This isn't your traditional scenic view, but it was perfect. Even though you can see the freeway, too, it was nice to be able to sit back on the deck and watch the boats bobbing on the water.
The food was good, not great. There is a good selection to please every eater, but no foodies.

Attached is the best dive bar in the area. Seriously. It's a great dive bar. Fireplace in the corner, pool table on the side, long bar with lots of room to sit around, 12 beers on tap, lots of TVs.

This place was so perfect, we came back for breakfast the next day.
