We were driving from San Francisco to Los Angeles and had no idea where we would end up but were quite happy to find this motel in San Simeon. We were a bit worried at first as the hotel exterior doesn't look like much at all, but the price was okay and I thought I had a vague memory of seeing it on the net and thinking the rooms looked okay. So we tried it.

The room we got was actually really great - clean, nice fittings, good size bathroom, good sized room. Totally different to the worn down exterior. We were immediately very happy with this choice and had a good nights sleep here. One word of warning though - don't order delivery from the pizza place with no prices listed - the pizza is okay but it is RIDICULOUSLY priced. Better to step out and find something nearby.

My husband and I were taking a trip up the California coast to San Francisco and decided to stop in San Simeon because we didn't want to miss the spectacular ocean views on the road ahead by driving in the dark. Everything on the ocean side seemed pricey until we came to the Sea Breeze Inn. I was skeptical because the lobby and hallway was not fancy but when we walked in the room it was like another world. It was big, beautiful and for $69, we got an ocean view with nobody walking by our window as the hallway was on the opposite side of the room from the window. There are condos further down but nobody seemed to be in them and there was a big field between them and us. Also the condos were not high enough to block our view. There is an adequate continental breakfast--cereals, fruits, boiled eggs, toast and pastries plus coffee and tea. It was a lovely surprise. Also the room was very clean. (I checked.)

We stayed in this motel for 3 nights. Great value!!!! We have spent 4 weeks travelling around the US and this is a terrific place. It's the only motel/hotel that we have stayed in that has in room tea and coffee facilities as well as a fridge and a microwave in the room. All this for less that $90 per night. The bed was great and we had excellent sleep every night listening to the sound of the waves on the beach. The town of Cambria is 5 mins south which has plenty of shopsetc ( 2 sets of shops...1 at each end of main street) and Hearst Castle 5 mins north. Also take in the elephant seals on the beach about 10 mins north. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a great time and were not bothered by noise from other guests even though the motel was 95% full on 2 of the 3 nights. We have no hesitation in recommending this motel to anyone who wants accomodation in the area.

Stayed here many times and the owners have changed again and again, but the room rates are good, the hotel is clean, location is great (minutes from Hearst Castle) and perfectly okay for one night. The continental breakfast wasn't much too speak off, unfortunately, but you can't have everything when looking for inexpensive. I will continue to stay here for a night on my drives from So Cal to Northern Cal.

My wife & I try to get away to San Simeon at least once a year, we normally stay at moonestone beach but this was a spur of the moment get away. The Motel grounds looked nice but the upstairs walkway's indoor/outdoor carpeting was worn & torn, and they just completed a full makeover? On the plus side: the room looked nice and was a king bed with 15' x 15' size room, new windows & door locked well, old TV but it worked well, frig, mirco & coffee maker in room as well as ironing board & iron, other motels like the Silver surf, here in San Simeon do not offer any of these items so this was a big plus, and their conti breakfast was good as to cold cereal, toast, juice, coffee, muffins, & pastry, also the outdoor pool was heated and clean. Now for the bad news, the walls are paper thin, we stayed there 3 nights and 2 of the three had a neighbor next door on each side & below us and we could hear them speaking, as well as their TV sound, and at 11 pm after driving all day or going on tours you do want to sleep, after all, right? All this, as well as the person below Snoring all night! So I had to call down to the front desk and asked them to call the rooms and ask them to be quiet. Both times, after calling, the other neighbors did quiet down. We don't have Super Hearing but this place has no insulation between walls or floors, so try to get a upstairs room, and please people, try to remember to have a little common courtesy to all your other neighbors after 10pm. As for food in Cambria? Stay away from Medusa's Mexican resturant, low grade dog food at best, dirty & small, like the taco truck's that pull up in front of home depots to feed day laborers, we're suprised they're still in business. Las Cambritas is the best as for Mexican food and the service is great as well as the price, and the Moonstone gardens Hamlet resturant is a good choice for a romantic evening.

We found a coupon to stay at this hotel for $49, so called ahead and made reservations. The lady said we would get that rate. When we got there, we didn't "qualify" for the rate so ended up paying $69 (which supposedly was $10 off the regular rate). We got the handicapped accessible room since it was the last room they had. The bed was hard as a rock. Continental breakfast was prepackaged muffins, cereal, coffee, and juices.

This motel is a short walk away from the ocean, so we took a stroll along the beach and watched the sun set. There is a Mexican restaurant within walking distance and more across the highway. The motel is close to Hearst Castle.

Would be nice if the owners would put some money back into the hotel to make some improvements.

We stayed at this hotel on our way from Carmel to Paso Robles. We should have driven the extra hour. The place is very old style. The rooms were clean and relatively quiet although you could hear everyone else's conversation. The bed was the hardest we ever slept on. The continental breakfast was spartan and not worth eating - we went into Cambria which was 3-4 miles away and had several breakfast options
