My wife and I (frequent travelers) stayed here for one night on our drive along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Our stay: 1 night in a non-smoking king bed room

Pros:
- free wifi, although spotty
- continental breakfast included (hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles)
- large spacious room
- quiet room (room 239)
- close to Highway 1 (perfect for Pacific Coast Highway drive)

Cons:
- housekeeping could do better job cleaning. Hairs on ice box and tray upon check in.
- waited over 10 minutes to check in. The hotel is clearly understaffed. The same woman on check in late at night was working the breakfast room early the next morning.
- Mold on front door
- some of the 'white' towels were grey
- cushions used as pillows
- Not much food options in area. There is restaurant attached to hotel which we did not try.

Sleep rating: 7/10, good mattress with thin light down duvet

Shower rating: 4/10, low flow shower head with weak pressure

Conclusion: Ok stay if you don't mind cushions as pillow, a weak shower and not perfectly clean rooms.

Make sure to visit the Elephant Seal Rookery about 10 miles north along Highway 1.

We stayed two nights here, and while we were looking for something inexpensive, this hotel was not worth $79/per night.

Pros: comfy bed
Cons: dirty floors, poor tv reception, noisy through the walls, the "deluxe" breakfast was a stale muffin and luke warm coffee.

I would NOT stay here again, nor would I recommend this hotel. There are lots of other options for better value in the area.

This is an aging but perfectly acceptable family run hotel. While it does not feature air conditioning in the rooms it is not really needed sitting right along the central California coast. The attached Manta Rey restaurant is reason along to stay here. But we honestly had a perfectly acceptable night and would surely stay there again if passing through.

We wanted to stop overnight in San Simeon ( in order to visit Hearst Castle ) and checked into the Quality Inn.
The rate was very good at $69 plus tax for room and breakfast
It's not often you pay that rate and get a room with a sea view
The lady who ran the motel was very helpful and even helped me organise the next nights stay in Monterey
I would highly recommend this establishment

Poor all round, rooms were dirty, early morning call was late, The restaurant attached to the Inn was recommended as one of the best seafood restaurants in the area. Not in our opinion, the fish dishes were all over cooked
