The Winery is owned by Jim and Debbie Van Haun who also own the adjacent Sequoia View Bed and Breakfast. Kristin, a graduating enology student from Fresno State was our wine tasting guide assisted by Cliff her fiance who also works at the winery. I was particulary interested in the Alicante Bouschet because of its history as a popular wine during prohibiton because of its red fleshed grape. Kristin is quite knowledgeable and helpful. We purchased both the Alicante and their Cabernet which we both enjoyed. The setting is beautiful with a sweeping view over the vineyards to the mountains beyond.

We stopped at this little off the beaten path winery on our way up to Pinehurst yesterday for some wine tasting. The tasting room is colorful and clean and for $3/pp you can sample 5 very nice wines.

We started with the Pinot Grigio which was crisp, clean and very nice, followed by a Pinot Noir which we purchased. This was the wineries first production of Pinot Noir and turned out very good. The Alicante Bouschet is the signature wine here, we always like to have some on hand at our house. Next was the Tempranillo which was also very good, followed by a big, jammy Cabernet Sauvignon.

There is a nice area to enjoy your tastings, gifts can be purchased here and there is also a B&B at the winery called the Sequoia View Bed and Breakfast for overnight guests.

Don't miss this place for some wine tasting on the way up to the Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Pakrs. The hosts are very friendly also and they love what they do here! :)
