“Santa Barbara Wine Tour that's not like a tour”
Reviewed 6 August 2009

They call this a "wine Tour" but every tour I've been on is strictly structured and this was pleasantly not so. Although we were presented with an itinerary listing certain wineries, after a discussion of our likes and dislikes, our driver Thomas actually changed up the day in a way that was exactly what we wanted, but left to our own devices we would have never figured it out. We were fortunate enough to go on a slow weekday with just one other couple, and they were game for anything, so it ended up being all about us (actually all about the wife, since I am not much of a wino and was happy drinking any hooch presented to me). By the time you count up the costs of the tastings ($40) that are included and the lunch (about $16 if you bought it yourself at Panino, by my estimate), you are only really paying an extra $42 (total $98 per person) to have an interesting and knowledgable guy drive you around for 6 hours, set up your lunches in a fu-fu picnic setting that the wives love, load in all your purchases and give them to you all neatly arranged in boxes at the end of the day, and let you kick back in a big comfortable cool shuttle while someone else does all the work. Seems like a pretty good deal for a great service in todays world of high prices for low service. Cheers, Thomas, and thank you Grapeline. We'll be back with our whole neigborhood in the Spring. -- Andrew and Annie from Azusa

“Had a fantastic time”

Receive Grapeline tour as a gift, chose Santa Ynez. Beautiful area. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Enjoyed the wineries and some. We had an excellent tour guide named Tom. Definitely do it again. The lunch provided was delicious.

“Don't miss the Grape Line tour if you're in the area.”
Reviewed 24 July 2009

I heartily recommend the Grape Line tour to anyone visiting the Santa Barbara wine country (featured in the film SIDEWAYS). You don’t have to be a wine connoisseur—there is nothing stuffy about this adventure. My husband and I have been twice and will go again. There are always four wineries included but they change depending on various factors including the preferences of the guests. One of the wineries will give you a tour of the facilities and all tasting fees are included. In many of the wineries we visited, we were given a discount on purchases for being on the tour. You’ll have many options for a deluxe box lunch. Both times our driver, Tom, set a table at the second winery on our itinerary and we dined in style in a beautiful setting. This last time, we had our lunch at Fess Parker’s. Tom is a delightful tour guide and flexibility is really a key factor here. On our first tour we ended the day (per the request of one of the guests) at a bakery in Solvang. This last time, in addition to the four wineries, we stopped at an olive oil farm, a lavender farm and (okay, it was my request) we also stopped for a photo opp at the gates to Neverland Ranch. The tour lasts from approx. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. depending on where you’re picked up and dropped off.

“Wonderful excursion”
Reviewed 23 July 2009

We booked Grapeline based upon the reviews on tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. Tom is a very gracious host and was there to help with whatever we needed. Lunch was very good and in a pleasant outdoor gazebo at one of the wineries.
