“It's a destination”

While on our way to Solvang for the weekend we made a bit of a side trip to the Cold Springs Tavern on the mountain pass road between Santa Barbara and Solvang. Great place to stop for lunch. The was a sports car club there with about 10 Prowlers, all decked out with awesome paint jobs. I had the venison steak sandwich and my wife had the Cobb salad. Both surpassed our expectations. Definitely would recommend making the effort to seek out this jewel.

“A must find in the hills”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013

No its not a town place. Its up in the mountains and it is so worth the find. Look it up, get directions and go. Designate a driver. The drinks and atmosphere are great. Its just got an old mountain type of feel.

“Go for the novelty of it”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Great hidden bar in the mountain, fun for ribs or a burger. The food is just ok, you don't come here for the food. You come because it is hidden in the mountain and is rustic and unique and fun to see.

“Authentic Stage Coach Stop-A Surprising Find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

Sunday is a special day at the tavern. Afternoons feature an outdoor BBQ and Impromptu music.
You will see lots of motor cycles parked in front but don't be afraid they are all friendlies.
Delightful spot, especially in Summer when it always cool despite the heat of the surrounding valley.
Restaurant itself features some really good local game such as elk and venison and a really good wine list. A definite don't miss.
