We have stayed at this Inn twice and both visits were positive. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Well maintained grounds. Great location and so much within walking distance. We will definitely return again.

Just returned from a great stay at the Eagle Inn. It is the perfect location - walking distance to everything. From the moment we checked in we knew we made the right choice. Kirsten at the front desk was very friendly and made us feel so welcome. She really helped us with directions and suggestions for restaurants. Our room was wonderful - with two queen beds and a separate kitchen. It was spacious with lots of natural light and we were so comfortable it was hard to leave the room! The complimentary breakfast was really good; not just your ordinary continental breakfast. We had omelettes with tomatoes, spinach and feta, along with rosemary potatoes, fresh fruit, OJ, bagels. After breakfast we took advantage of their bikes and had a lovely ride on the boardwalk. It was our first trip to Santa Barbara and we fell in love with it. I can't say enough good things about the Eagle Inn.

Room Tip: There are all types of rooms - from cottages to single queen rooms. Be sure to look at all your options.

Thanks for writing such a nice review! We were really happy to have you stay with us and we're all stoked that your trip was so enjoyable. Kirsten hasn't stopped talking about her new friends from Colorado! Please come visit again.

We stayed at the Eagle Inn for one night, having booked an executive suite. This we found was in a stand alone duplex adjacent to the main Santa Fe style building. The property is situated in a quiet part of the town, off the main streets, and you would have been forgiven for thinking that our accommodation was a private home in suburbia. There is a good sized parking area beside the main building but I can imagine that, when the place is very busy, parking might have to be on the street for some visitors.

The suite was well laid out and equipped, though we were a little disconcerted to find a spa bath in the main living accommodation. The kitchen was equipped with the basics to allow the option of self catering and the bathroom and closet space were well laid out. The windows were fitted with light wooden shutters to ensure privacy.

After travelling for some time we were keen to chill with a glass of wine and a few nibbles and found both a wine store and small supermarket within easy walking distance. Just as easy is the walk to the beachfront and down to State Street, the main street in Santa Barbara.

The room came with the breakfast option. This meal is served in a pleasant airy room in the main building which looks out to the adjacent street. The options for breakfast were a little limited but it was an adequate start to the day.

Our one negative about the Eagle Inn was the sheets on the bed. We are still not sure what these were made of but they were not comfortable. They clung to us until they had been slept in. It was almost as if they had to be used before they softened. But for this, however, our sleep at Eagle Inn was restful and uninterrupted.

I tried an APP for the first time called Hotel Tonight.
You log in and put in your preferred city and at 12Noon you are sent the hotels with available rooms for your chosen city. They are rated, Basic, Charming, Solid, Luxe. Also the prices are better than I could find on the websites or through another booking service. It also has a way to book for more than one night if available.
I lucked out and got a Delux Queen with Balcony. also had a fireplace and a little kitchenette.
It was roomy and very comfortable.
The included breakfast was great with fresh fruit and quiche or granola.
There is lots of helpful info around the common areas and in the rooms, but staff is also willing to help with directions and info.
Within 2 blocks of the beach and 3 blocks from Stearns Wharf.
I am looking forward to my next stay at Eagle Inn.

Thanks for the tip about the booking website. One caveat though..you don't always get such a fancy room, so if you have requirements, it's always best to call the hotel directly. Don't wait too long before your next visit. Cheers!

The Eagle was a delightful spot to stay at while on a too-brief visit to Santa Barbara. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless, well-appointed and very quiet at night. The location near the Beach was perfect for us. Great breakfast too! We will stay there again any time we are in the area.

Thank you for your kind words. We are all happy that you enjoyed your stay here. Location location location. Between November and March is the low season, so if you're looking for a bargain price, the time is now! Thanks a bunch and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
