Incredible staff, atmosphere, location, and ambiance ! Our room was a private get - away complete with a jacuzzi tub, two person shower, comfortable bed and a nice cozy fire. Our kitchenette provided a touch of luxury for our romantic late night love snacks !

Perfect getaway! We stayed in one of the cottages and had the Romance Package. Highly recommend!!! The room was so nice. The bed was amazing to sleep in! Double spa, great shower, and a lovely balcony. Peaceful and quiet! Great location. Can walk to State Street. The beach is a 3 min walk away! Can't wait to go again!

The Eagle Inn is a gem: charming, clean, well-located and reasonably priced. I was in the area for business; I stayed for a week and hated to leave, the hotel was so delightful. The front desk staff is particularly accomodating; they provided excellent service, with rock-solid recommendations for restaurants and leisure activities. The warm cookies and tea in the evenings were especially welcome. All in all, an A+ experience ... I will definitely return.

Love the Eagle Inn! We have stayed there once and are staying in late Feburary again. Tried out both a suite and a regular guest room - you have to get the suite. Guest rooms seem a little old, suite was brand new and really cute. Location was perfect - really quiet, close to the beach and downtown. I have food allergies, so I love to go to Spiritland Bistro - I reccommend the restaurant to anyone that has allergies. Lots of shopping downtown, movie theaters, museums. Everything! Head there for a long weekend if you can - especially during summer. Reccommend that you have a car when you are there.

Perhaps our expectations were too high, based on the glowing reviews we read here. We booked executive King room 107 for a two-night stay of $358, including taxes.

PROS:
Ample parking
Convenient, safe and quiet location close to beach and a 20-minute walk to State Street.
Friendly and responsive staff.
Spacious clean room with ceiling fan, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, 32" flat-screen TV and DVD player
Airy breakfast room was filled with cheery music and offered free online access.
Breakfast included fresh fruit, bagels, cereals, yogurt and assorted beverages.
Hot coffee, tea, apples and hard candy available 24 hours.
Cruiser bikes available to guests, and the beach bike path is only a few blocks away.

CONS:
Need sign directing guests to front desk from parking lot.
Our room's only window faced the parking lot.
Bathroom offered a single hook and limited counter space.
Narrow and dark shower stall.
I had to request a box of Kleenex.
King bed contained only three pillows for two people. A spare pillow and blanket would have been appreciated in the closet.
Although our room was vacant all morning, the maid did not arrive until 3 p.m., when we'd returned for a nap. So our room was not cleaned during our stay.
Pastries at breakfast tasted stale both days.
The bikes' brakes were worn out and there was no way to adjust the seats or inflate the tires, which made us feel unsafe.

Santa Barbara hotels are expensive, so perhaps we expected too much for the price of our room. Because of the concerns described above, however, I'm not certain we'd return.

If you want a memorable meal, however, we enjoyed delectable dinners at Seagrass and Opal. Neither are inexpensive, but we felt we received quality and value for the price.

The Eagle Inn is perfectly situated for enjoying Santa Barbara. It is an easy walk to the beach and to all the fun on State Street. The rooms are adorable. We have stayed here twice, once in the main part of the hotel and most recently in the Santa Cruz cottage. The cottage is comfortable and well-appointed with a large jacuzzi tub, a dual-head shower, flat screen TV and many other amenities. It is quiet and secluded -- perfect for a romantic getaway. It also has a sitting room and small kitchenette that would be useful on a longer stay

Paul, the hotel's owner, arranged for us to do a wine tasting trip for the day in Santa Ynez and gave great dinner suggestions in town. The staff is friendly and helpful. A nice breakfast is provided in the morning.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay of any length in Santa Barbara. It has all the amentities of a larger hotel with the charm and personal attention of a quaint inn.

This was the only accommodation we hadn't booked in advance for our California trip last november. Before leaving Carmel we read the good comments about the Eagle Inn in Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. It was really a good choice!

There are several kinds of rooms with different kinds of amenities and prices. We opted for a standard queen room for about 90$ and eventually got a free upgrade to an executive king room.

The place and the neighborhood were very nice and the room was comfortable. The girl at the reception was extremely kind and complimentary breakfast definitevely a plus. If you can get a good rate, this is surely the place to stay in Santa Barbara.
