Description: We are a casual seafood house that is located right on the dock in the Santa Barbara Harbor. You’ll find a bustling scene of fisherman, young professionals and sand-sprinkled beach-goers nearly every night of the week at this true-blue waterfront institution. Dungeness crab cocktail, oysters on the half-shell and fried shrimp round out the “small” menu offerings. Fresh fish specials, such as grilled white sea bass from local waters, mahi mahi dusted in Cajun spices and pan-blackened local yellowtail, are highlights on the “long” menu. No matter what, libations are always in order at this locals’ favorite gathering place. Everyone is welcome at Brophy's, hope to see you soon.

Stopped for a late lunch/early dinner on our way from LA to Cambria. Santa Barbara was on out "TO DO" list and we were looking for good food and good drink. We found it at here, along with a fantastic view of the mountains and harbor. We sat outside overlooking the marina and were promptly waited on by a young man - college age - very good looking. What I would expect in Santa Barbara. Ordered beers, Anchor Steam of course, and seafood. Husband had the swordfish and I had the crab cakes. We also got chowder, which considering we are from the Boston area, was very good. Meals were excellent. Service was great throughout the meal. It was such a nice atmosphere we almost did not want to get back in the car and continue our drive. Noticed lots of locals seemed to be at the bar - very friendly place.

Brophy Bros. was recommended by the mate on our sunset cruise, it's on the same pier. Open to the ocean, and very nice views from the bar area as well as most of the restaurant. We had excellent clam chowder for a starter, just excellent. As was the bread!! The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We did have to wait a while for our dinners, over 1/2 hr. but the place was very busy. Steak, swordfish and sea bass were all delicious. It's also noisy upstairs, which can be fun as long as you aren't trying to have a quiet romantic dinner. Perfect restaurant for Santa Barbara visitors like us and for locals who want great food in a fun atmosphere.

We were pleasantly surprised with Brophy Brothers! When our hotel recommended them, we thought, hmm, another tourist restaurant. But, the food, service and location were top notch and there seem to be lots of locals dining and at the bar. We had a corner table outside and had views on both sides of the ocean. Calamari was crisp and not too greasy. Our kids loved it! Swordfish and salmon were cooked perfectly and the fish and chips plate was huge, with flaky fish that we agreed was some of the best we've tasted. My husband wanted to go back and eat there again, but we were just in town for two days. Next time we are in SB we will definitely be back to dine!

Climb the narrow stairs and get in line! You are about to enjoy good food and drink in a beautiful setting. The cocktail-party effect is in full flower here, so be ready to be tolerant of the racket.
The best seating is on the narrow upstairs patio (skip the downstairs area). If no table is available there when you arrive, stick around: the wait will be worth it. In the foreground you will see the boats nodding in the marina, in the middle distance the Santa Barbara Riviera, and in the background the lovely Santa Ynez Mountains. The setting is a delight.
The visitor can order anything on the menu with the assurance that it will be fresh and expertly prepared (the only weak item I have encountered is the crab cakes). Two of my favorites: the clam chowder, which is divine, and the jacked-up Bloody Marys.
If you visit Santa Barbara, don't miss this place.
