We really enjoyed it. We were walk ins on a Monday night, and fortunately there was a no show reservation for 2 at the sushi bar. Perfect. We were seated directly in front of the main sushi chef. He took good care of us. They had no shortage of the Santa Barbara uni, something we were unable to get at regular restaurants. They make this dish called the Gold shot. If you love uni, you must get it. I had two! I saw some of the negative reviews, and was a bit skeptical of this place, however, we had a really fun time. The fish was very fresh, they had a nice assortment of normal and "unusual" fish (geoduck clams), the sushi chef team was great, responsive, and interactive, and it was fun sitting at the counter. That might be the difference. Get a seat at the counter. I'd go back.
