Description: The Lark pays homage to the history of California train travel and tributes the treasured and long gone Santa Barbara Fish Market, built in the 1920’s as a commercial fish processing plant, shipping their seafood products throughout the state by rail. With an imaginative yet approachable menu created by the gifted Jason Paluska, The Lark celebrates everything found around Santa Barbara County – wineries, farms, ocean and natural beauty. The stunning design strives to connect to the past and the future, using discovered objects from the past and blending them with modern, urban and industrial materials to spectacular effect.

“The Lucky Penny”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

Adjacent to and owned by same owners, these venues share a must see kitchen. The Lucky Penny is literally covered in real pennies on its exterior. A small house with a short menu, includes yummy bfast pastries, coffees, and out of this world baked eggs. A quaint outdoor patio/seating area with picnic tables and fascinating decor. Parking can be challenging so walk your dog there or ride your bike.

“Solid performance”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

Food was well thought out and prepared, hopping and fun atmosphere. We ate there with a professional chef and even he gave it an 8 out of 10. I give it a 9, hard to find fresh, yet daring food.

“A Must Go in Santa Barbara!”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Great dinner! Hippest place in town! Busy, and hopping! Loved the food! Right around the corner from wine tasting shops and music!! The Funk Zone is the place to be! We shared our food choices and I was stuffed when I left- happily!!!

“First choice Favorite”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

When my husband and I choose to go out to dinner in Santa Barbara, we first check to see if we can get a reservation at The Lark. It is a great setting, really good, interesting food and an excellent wine list. You have to have the brussel sprouts! Service is great, food is great. YOU HAVE TO MAKE A RESERVATION - or arrive between 5-6pm. The other option is to come and sit at the Family style table and enjoy meeting others who have chosen to do the same.

“Hot, happening spot”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Was highly recommended by several people and lived up to our expectation! You need a reservation and it is well worth any wait. We had the pork shank and the scallops and both dishes were succulent and amazing. Large portions and served family style.
