we had high expectations as we sat over a beautiful sunset on the pacific. Busy restaurant as you would expect on such a pier. Mouth watering menu....until you get the harbour seafood platter to find everything is breaded and therefore everything has same texture and taste....you could have got as good seafood from the ice box of a supermarket....oysters to start a little on old side in tasting (from canada! ) ....great pinot grigio to wash it down though took ages to get the cooler with the bottle !! great location average food.

I would not rate it 5 stars but we both appreciated the quality of the food and the location on the wharf. Prices are a bit much for the amount of food one gets. Be prepared.

The location is superb, right over the water with views of the coastline. It's especially nice at night to see all the lights along Cabrillo. The interior feels a bit dated with all of the fake plants, but the soft music works and the blue chairs fit nicely. We went for my husband's birthday so, of course, I was hoping for outstanding service. However, we had a bumpy start. We weren't greeted at our table by a server for over 20 minutes. We might've left, but the hostess was so attentive and kind and finally brought us water. The server was nice, gave us our space, and they delivered his surprise, birthday desserts at the perfect time. They even bought us one of the desserts! Still, my chicken was a tad undercooked and for the price, the meal was not the best. The chocolate cheesecake was incredible, though. I think we preferred Longboard's upstairs where the service was more consistently great and the food was about the same quality for much less money (there are at least ten of the same items listed on both menus, but ten dollars more on Harbor's menu...). Check out the place for the location, have a drink, then eat upstairs.

...but the food isn't anything special. We saw a LA-based seafood distributor unloading boxes of frozen solid product in the back. We ate there later mostly for the view and have to say the food was pretty pedestrian, not unlike the seafood you'd expect to get if you lived in, say, Denver. We just expected better for both the location and the price.

The atmosphere on the other hand was very appealing and it is fun to watch the sea lions playing in the surf and romantic to see the sun set behind the hills of Santa Barbara.

For an exceptional dining experience at the same price point though, walk a few blocks further west on Cabrillo to a little place called Toma. Frequented by locals, it's far less touristy and the seafood is fresh off the boats from the marina. We make Toma a priority every time we visit Santa Barbara!

Service is excellent, restaurant clean and the management cares because I see them inspecting chairs, window sills, etc. had breakfast and the portion was huge and quality great. A little on the expensive side but when you add the pier location, it's worth it.
