A charming getaway in the heart of Santa Barbara... leave the car in the driveway, and walk to enjoy this beautiful city in Southern California. This B & B is located near many fine restaurants, cultural venues and historic sites.

Room Tip: Try the Opal Restaurant... a gourmet treat within walking distance

I was recently passing through Santa Barbara for the day and indulged a bit too much at lunch. What can I say? The wine was too good *not* to drink it. So I needed a place to crash for the night – and I really couldn't have made a better choice for the price. The room was tidy and had great character, the owners were friendly and accommodating, and breakfast in the garden was delicious and relaxing. I also liked the fact that the inn is walking distance from State St.

On my way in I overheard a couple chatting, and they mentioned that they come back here every year. They certainly looked as if they could afford to stay anywhere, but they choose White Jasmine. While I only stayed the one somewhat boozy night, but I can understand why people come back. If I'm passing through and I order that extra glass or two of Pinot at lunch again (a strong possibility), this is definitely the first place I'll call.

This isn't ultra-luxury accommodations – just smart, home-like and warm, with a bed that I'd fall asleep in and not wake up for 9 hours straight. It was exactly what I was looking for.

My husband and I stayed in the Castaway Room for four nights while enjoying the sights in and around Santa Barbara! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Inn is at a fantastic location in the city, convenient parking near the houses, and both John and Marlies were friendly and helpful. It was fun to wake up each morning and anticipate the mouthwatering breakfast that was delivered fresh and hot to our door ... mmmm ... can you say scrumptious?!?! Marlies out did herself each morning (and each evening ... with her freshly baked cookies)!!! Then to come back after an exciting day of sightseeing to a beautifully made up room and a large jacuzzi tub to relax in ... divine! Thank you, Marlies and John!!

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our California road trip vacation. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. We chose the Country room, which was adequate in size with a good sized bathroom. Just right for what we needed. It is conveniently located within walking distance of State St. where most of the action is. The breakfast was amazing, I think my husband would give anything to have another breakfast sandwich like the one we had one of the mornings during our stay. It was also wonderful to have fresh fruit with our breakfast. The garden is beautiful and so peaceful. We had our breakfast delivered to our room but ended up eating in the garden both mornings.
i cannot recommend A White Jasmine Inn enough. You will not be disappointed.

Booked last minute for a fair price and was very pleased with the accommodations, friendly proprietors, convenient location and lovely breakfast. The room was very small, but impeccably clean and quite comfortable. I will stay there again.

Great location and friendly owner, coupled with a well-appointed room, made this first B&B stay a pleasure for us. We were taking a road trip up the 101 from LA to SF and were delighted by the proximity to State Street and other attractions and easy parking. Quite enjoyed the nautical theme of our room and the large bathroom.

Has plentiful beautiful gardens; is attractive both inside and out, comfortable, well kept, and the breakfasts – more than ample creative variations on a theme and offered for consuming in guest room, parlor, or outside garden – are delicious! Innkeepers Marlies and John work hard – are gracious, capable, friendly, and know how to make their guests feel welcome. As husband and wife from Massachusetts planning an overdue visit with our daughter and son-in-law in Santa Barbara, we, after internet searching, were drawn to the inn as presented in its website (accessed through bedandbreakfast.com). We were very satisfied with our experience! Booking our guest room less than 2 weeks in advance, we took advantage of the extended (7-day or longer) stay option, and got a great rate! Our cheery 2nd-floor room, the Lavender in the main cottage, was just right for our stay, including accommodations and amenities; internet access worked well. Eating in the garden, we enjoyed daily visits by a hummingbird feeding nearby. Though repairing of the outside front entrance of the cottage was in process during most of our stay, our innkeepers handled it well, and, understanding the situation, we had no issue with it. We had useful daily chats with John: about us, him, the inn, Santa Barbara, our trip, our stay, and more; checkout was fine, including a critique (asked for by John) of our stay, and a wish-you-well and thank you parting chat. A short drive from Santa Barbara Airport and UCSB, the inn has off-street parking available and is conveniently located in a residential area, within reasonable walking distance of downtown, waterfront, and attractions … and the home of our daughter and son-in-law – owing to this convenience, which we enjoyed often, we opted to omit renting a car … and got around fine.

Room Tip: Check with inn about room size, location, amenities, any special situations/conditions.
