We stayed here for 2 nights in February 2014. We chose this place because it appeared to be within walking distance to the main parts of town (and it was). The property looked like an old motor inn, but it was actually very charming. We checked in and were taken to a dark room at the back of the hotel, which really felt like a cave. We decided to ask if anything else was available, and for $25 extra, we were moved to the top floor, which was MUCH brighter and airy (very much worth the extra $). The room itself was definitely dated, but spotless. We did get a free bottle of wine, which was great. Even in February, it was sunny and warm during the day, so we went swimming. The pool was small, but clean and beautiful with nice landscaping all around. There is free wi-fi, but it's kind of spotty at the back of the place. I brought my computer to the lobby when I needed to use it. The lobby itself was very cute! Comfy couches and a fireplace running all the time. I loved just hanging out there to read. Breakfast included a variety of fresh, delicious pastries, yogurts, fruit, cereal etc. I was not disappointed. In the afternoon, they offered drinks, cheese and crackers - perfect for a snack before dinner. In the evening, we were treated to a selection of fresh baked cookies and milk. I could not believe all the free food that was offered! We took advantage of the free bicycles the hotel had and cruised around town. The bikes were pretty rickety, but it's a great community with bike paths galore. All of these extra amenities were unexpected, but set this place apart from the rest. Unfortunately, on our first night, we had very young, noisy neighbors who had too much to drink, and were screaming and yelling at each other. The staff did an excellent job diffusing the situation and promptly made them leave, banning them from the property. The man at the front desk apologized profusely and said they have never had an experience like that before. I chalked it up to bad luck, and we enjoyed the rest of our stay there. Needless to say, I was absolutely shocked when I returned home and found that they had refunded my entire stay on my credit card! The customer service here is above and beyond - from the front desk, to the housekeepers to the maintenance staff. Everyone was so helpful and we couldn't have been treated better. Only suggestions would be to update the rooms, bicycles and wi-fi, but otherwise, don't change a thing. There is no doubt we will return.
