We can see why this hotel gets such good reviews. Beautiful gardens, comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast served in a couple of rooms close by the pool.

Even though it is close to a major road, noise was not an issue once inside the guest room. The room had all the facilities you could need, very comfortable bed, fridge, microwave, security safe, free WI-FI and a beaut shower with a decent flow of hot water. Funny how you can be in more expensive hotels and have to put up with either inconsistent or very limited shower flows.

Also, we have to mention their very friendly staff including the front desk and the two servers in the breakfast room.

We were in need of a good hotel and I am extremely pleased by the level of customer service that Jake provided!

If you are planning to head north to Solvang or Chumash, this location is perfect. A few miles from State Street ( Santa Barbara). The outside looked shabby, I was conerned.
However the rooms were super clean and quiet, the bed was fine too. If you want to run or take long walk, best bet is to stay on the ocean at or near the Fess Parker Doubletree.
There are lots of motels nearby. But the Ramada was very good.. I had an issue with the computer/printer and Jake from the fron desk stayed with me until it was resolved. he was excellent! The hotel needs another, updated computer system....
They served breakfast too, nice touch for families. In fact, this spot was much cheaper than the hotels in town, really worth it for anyone on a budget. Includes a small frig and microwave~ worth a look.

I have stayed in many hotels and motels in the Santa Barbara area over the last 30 years, and the Ramada Limited is one of my favorites.

Like many nice hotels in SB, the Ramada features beautifully landscaped grounds, with a water filled lagoon that is home to ducks, fish and other small (and harmless) creatures. The pool and whirlpool (both outdoors, as with most SB properties) are kept clean and the water temperature seems reasonable.

There is a "business center" near the office where one can print maps, consult TripAdvisor, print airline boarding passes, etc. WiFi is available, free, and more reliable than it was a few years ago. We had no interruption in WiFi service, and speeds were great.

There is plenty of free parking, and the SB Transit has a bus stop in front of the hotel. As with most places in California, while you can get by in the SB area without a car, you will miss out on some nice attractions outside of town if you don't drive.

The Ramada does not have a restaurant, but it provides a very nice free breakfast seven days per week. It features the usual pastries, beverages, toast, English muffins, bagels, yogurt, etc. The friendly staff will make you a fresh waffle on request, and, unlike some hotels with free breakfast, fresh fruit is available.

Across the street is an IHOP, and down the street is an In & Out Burger, which many rate as the best "fast food" burgers & fries in America. Since we live in Ohio, it is a treat for us to go there!

Our room was clean and serviced every day by housekeeping. The front desk staff was friendly & helpful (and they usually have free cookies and candy at the office).

The bathrooms have shower-baths, with toiletries and a hair dryer provided. The rooms come with a mini refrigerator and a microwave. Most rooms have either a patio or a balcony.

The Ramada is particularly a good choice for visits to UCSB, and to the SBA airport. It is conveniently off of Highway 101, without highway noise.

No, you are not on the beach, but at least for my family, that was not a drawback. Essentially all beaches in California are public-even in ritzy Malibu. Further, most, if not all "beach" hotels in Santa Barbara are NOT on the beach. At best, they are across the street from the beach, or a short walk.

We drove to the beach a couple of times, and found convenient parking available.

I've stayed at the original location of Motel6 (a good value that's only a block from East Beach), Fess Parker's Doubletree, the Santa Barbara Inn, Hotel Mar Monte (fka the Raddison and the Sheraton), Cabrillo Inn, the (currently closed) El Encanto, and, uptown, the BW Pepper Tree Inn, among other places.

I've only dined at the Four Seasons and the San Ysidro Ranch, since we can't afford to pay a starting price of $500/night. If you can afford to stay there, I can tell you that the public areas are lovely, and the staff seems very service oriented.

There's nothing wrong with any of those places (though some are quite expensive), but the next time we are in Santa Barbara, the first place we'll check for lodging will be the Ramada Limited.

Registered for the Montecito Half Marathon and needed a place to stay.
Reservations online was easy and check in the day was quick. The room was as expected, considering the $160 per night, plus city tax. Two nights were fine, and the breakfast was just right--coffee, juice, pastries, and cereal.
The bed was OK, shower & bath were clean, TV was OK, and the location was close to the freeway.
Will be back for the weekend of the Santa Barbara Half Marathon in November.
