The hotel staff was friendly, the hotel was clean, but the room was a bit worn. And the continental breakfast left much to be desired.
This hotel was one I was most worried about during our road trip however the rooms were always clean and it's in a great location. The rooms are a bit dated but never felt dirty. It's a short walk round the corner to the beach which was perfect for us. The couple that own this hotel are very nice we completely missed the big sur by driving the motor way route and decided to go back to it meaning we were late for our check out the next morning however they were very nice about it and charged us no extra. They provided coffee and a muffin in the mornings which was a nice touch.
We have stayed at this Days Inn several times but this was the best of all. They have updated the rooms and have new beds and bedding that are soooo comfortable. The new paint added a bright and clean look to our rooms. The first two nights it was just me and my husband so we had a single room with a king bed. We picked up our two granddaughters on the third day and moved into one of their double rooms. That worked out great because the two girls slept in the extra room and had a place to put all their stuff. Their parents came later and we moved back to the single room and they stay in the double with the girls. In all we stayed 11 nights and the owners, Annie and her husband are great. This lady went out of her way to talk to the girls and make sure they knew they could come visit or get snacks in the office any time.
Not to talk about this location would leave out the best part. It's in walking or trolly distance from everywhere. You can be at the harbor, the beach, Sterns Wharf, or the zoo in minutes. Also there are lots of restaurants close and we especially love the Brew House - 2 blocks over and three blocks down. I want you to like it like we do but not so much that it's took booked up for us. Maybe see you next trip.
