If you seek the 'hotel' feel, long dark hallways, impersonal staff and a paper left outside your door each day- this place is not for you.
However, if you seek a Bed and Breakfast feel, quaint, understated but never lacking accomodation, a block from the water with a DIVINE complimentary breakfast each day and a staff (Frank, Linda and Dan) who bed over backwards to make you feel at 'home' then THIS is your place. Santa Barbara has a charm all of its own and often a pricetag to match. Inn at East Beach gives you all the charm with none of the sticker shock. It is all one could need- rooms great and the location is superb. I say- YES. I am back to NY now and wishing I were still there!

We stayed here based on reviews here on TripAdvisor. The reviews were right on target and Frank and Linda are wonderfully helpful. I loved that they let you take your breakfast up to your room and that the food was individually wrapped. They had interesting items like Pizza Bagels and Apple Cinnamon stuffed croissants. They also had the standard fare like instant oatmeal and fruit. We don't drink coffee, so I can't rate that for you.

We got a junior suite with the full kitchen and it was SO helpful because we took our infant who is still on bottles. They also had a crib set up in our room with bedding and even a little pillow. Having a fridge to put sodas, water and left over food in was wonderful, plus having real silverware to eat with. My mother who lives in SB thought it was great and plans on recommending it to others who come to visit especially if they come for more than a couple of days and certainly if they come for a week or so.

You are right by the beach and our room had a mountain view which was nice. The only downside -which applies to all the hotels on the beach - is that you are so close to the railroad tracks that run along the coast. Multiple times this woke our baby up because it was SO loud. But every hotel on the beach would face this problem, I was just surprised that I didn't see it mentioned before on this site.

We plan on staying here for all future visits to my family. I really loved being so close to the beach and the highway.
