This is the kind of hotel you want to stay at for more than one night. We arrived too late in the evening and departed far too early the next day to truly appreciate all that this hotel has to offer. The rooms were beautifully furnished. The red brick walls, dark wood furnishings, crisp white linens, spacious marble bath, French doors and Spanish tiles made this Holiday Inn unique. Just thinking about the comfort of this room makes me sleepy. Don't miss the morning breeze and lovely view of Santa Barbara from the French doors by the elevator. The Spanish tiled fountain in the lobby is also lovely. We can't wait to go back for a longer stay. This hotel was a great value and full of unexpected charm.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing out onto Santa Barbara streets instead of a room facing the parking in the rear of the hotel.

The holiday Inn Express was such a nice surprise! The location was great and the staff was fantastic(Emanual at the front desk was amazing) It was clean and the rooms were updated. I am not a Holiday Inn kind of person but was pleasantly surprised!

This is not your typical Holiday Inn Express. It is a historical building that has a lot of charm and character. It is in a perfect location if you like to stroll around the downtown and you don't mind a bit of a walk to the beach. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The rooms are newly renovated, a little on the small side but with 2 people it was not a problem. However, I couldn't imagine more than 3 people in the room. The main building has better rooms than the side area of the hotel. We stayed in both sections of the hotel. The breakfast is not too bad but nothing to brag about. Standard fare. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

Walking distance to the Amtrak station, in the heart of Old Town Santa Barbara, great location to restaurants and shops. The front desk was welcoming, helpful, and attentive. The room was slightly smaller than standard rooms (but nothing to complain about), charming Spanish touches, and quiet (even though right off the street from several restaurants and bars. Great deal.

We stayed in this hotel for just one night and found it to be perfect for what we needed. Parking was right next door (and valet parking available too if needed) and check-in was very quick. This is an older building in the style typical of those found in the central area of Santa Barbara. Our room was on the second floor of the 'main' building and whilst some other reviewers have commented on the small size of the room, we found it to be fine - although yes it is a little smaller than rooms found in the 'cookie cutter' type hotel buildings. Whilst our room faced the street at the front of the hotel, there was not a lot of noise - it is not a busy street at all.

Location-wise it is half a block to State Street which has no end of shops and restaurants. One block to Starbucks, and around a 10 minute walk to the beach and wharf. Overall, our stay was fine and nothing to complain about.
