“Plan on going to the Museum next door too”

I can't add much to the other reviews. The chapel was beautiful and the Musuem de Saisset next door was free and had very interesting history displays in their basement. The top two levels of the Musuem have rotating art exhibits. This Mission is the only CA Mission to be maintained/restored by a private University (a Jesuit University) which gives it a slightly different character than the others. (Most are maintained by parishes, two by the State of Ca). When you drive on campus, the parking attendant/security officer, will give you a visitor's parking pass for free, which will allow you 2 or 3 hours of free parking in the visitor spots (which are very near the mission and the museum).

“Gorgeous Wedding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2013

I was recently married in this strikingly beautiful church. The artwork and detail inside will take some time to truly look at and appreciate. The reception in the adjacent rose garden is a great example of incorporating landscape design into the architecture plan.

“Located on the beautiful Santa Clara University campus”

If you are travelling down the El Camino near San Jose or are interested in California history, especially missions, stop in to walk around and look. Check out the de Saisset Museum while you are there, it's right across the street.

Loved the beautiful integration of paintings, sculpture and architecture. Nearby is the Museum de Saisset which has some interesting artifacts and rotating art exhibits.

“Misison Santa Clara”

A beautiful example of the California Missions. Located on the Campus of Santa Clara University and near San Jose, CA. This mission is not the largest example of the California Missions, but it is very beautiful inside.
