“Aachi AappaKadai, Sunnyvale, CA 94087”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

We, three of us, had gone for Sunday lunch to Aachi AappaKadai, 1105 W El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087. They have another restaurant located in Santa Clara. As expected for a popular eatery - it was crowded, but the place being fairly big, we got a table.
This place specialises in Chettinad cuisine and claims that "Aachi Aappakadai was started with the thought of introducing the taste and flavors of Aappam to Northern California".
With this in mind we had ordered for Aappam with Goat Curry, Chicken Chettinadu, Parathas, Aachi Special Chicken Biriyani, Mango Lassi and Rose Milk. The service was friendly & swift. The food was spicy, as Chettinad cuisine is supposed to be. Special caution to those who do Not like spicy food and/or are looking for "North Indian" style food. A place to go for a taste of Chettinad cuisine.

“Good chettinad food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

Really liked their offerings. Had Idli with meen kozhambu. Just tasted as expected like any other chettinad restraunts in india. Their appam and chicken curry was good too. Can definitely recommend this to anyone for good chettinadu cuisine. Service was good too.

“Amazing food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

We went to the Sunnyvale location of the restaurant (which is not listed in TripAdvisor). The food was very good. There were three of us and we were able try out many items - appam, idyappam, and so on. Their vegetarian thali had a wide variety, and their goat curry was perhaps the best I have had in North America. (Some people may find it too hot.)
