For couples there are many more places to go instead of the boardwalk. If you have children then it would be a place to go.

The kids will have fun with the games and rides, the parents will enjoy the junk food and people watching. If you time it right, you can see some incredible bands in a great venue right on the water.

I love rides. These rides are not like Six Flags or other large amusements parks, but they're still enjoyable. We took the Roaring Camp Railroad from Felton and drops you off near the roller coaster. If you want to stay late in the day, drive down, but if you don't mind leaving at 4:15, you can take the train and gain a history lesson and see the Redwoods. I must say I took home a lot of typical junk foods, taffy, candied apple, chocolate covered everything, and I also ate a funnel cake while there. There is no lack of food on the boardwalk or on the street. I love roller coasters, but this one is a little rough as it goes with wooden coasters.

Really enjoyed our day here. Not crowded. Wristband for rides was a good value and no admission fee for the adults who weren't riding. Good variety of rides. So close to the beach. Lots of food and entertainment options. Touristy but soooo much better than Santa Monica pier.

Make a day of it after you walk West Cliff Drive and enjoy this friendly boardwalk with Oneills and touristy places galore. Explore the beach and see the seals! People watching is excellent, look for the chap with the pink umbrella.
