“Nice old style food and dining”
Reviewed 7 August 2013 via mobile

This old fashioned little diner is sweet and situated along the pier/wharf. Us 2 ladies really enjoyed our meals. The clam chowder was tasty and my chicken parmigiana was cooked beautifully and the vegetables were al dente, which is rare. Very tasty and at a very reasonable price. The service was good and we were seated quickly. Hope to go again one day when I'm in the area. Thank u :)

“Good Breakfast”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

Breakfast was good. Had the strawberry waffle with real strawberries instead of the berries in that red sauce which I really liked.

“Clam Chowder”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Nice lunch, soup, bread, calamari, and wine. Clam chowder bowls only $8.00 but of course we bought other stuff! Ate outside and dodged flying birds!

“Wonderful place on the Wharf”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Gilda's is not fancy, but it delivers good, reasonably priced food in a friendly, down-home atmosphere. Their Crab Louis salad is outstanding! Great views from windows on both sides of the restaurant, which is a real plus.

“Great, long time favorite.”
Reviewed 30 July 2013

Gilda's Restaurant has been a landmark restaurant in Santa Cruz for several decades.

I remember going to breakfast there with my dad when I was 14 or 15 years old. And the last time I was there...it was virtually the same as it was back then.

Gilda's has always had the best breakfast on the wharf, and I don't see that changing any time soon. And their Wednesday specials have always been a local favorite.

Nothin' fancy here :-) You typical hash/fish slinging blue collar eatery......some of the wait staff has been there since the roof was new :-)

They also have one of the most secluded bars in town.....pretty small, but that's cool, because nobody knows it's there...so no problem pulling up a stool.

Downsides....booths are way too cramped & the entry smells bad....ya never know if the oder is coming from the bathrooms or the seagulls on the roof......I have been told it is the seagulls......gross...but at least it is only at the entry & as long as you don't have to wait to long for a seat, it isn't too bad.

So, if you are looking for a really good breakfast, give it a try.
