Although it was very crowded on a Tuesday afternoon when we visited, it was well worth it! There is parking right by the pier for $14. Follow the signs! Since there are no other fees to pay unless you want to, I felt this was a good deal as it is literally to the side of the pier. Very convenient! Yes, there are people trying to sell you items on the pier in addition to actual vendors that pay to sell on the pier, but we weren't bothered by it as it's all part of the experience, The rides were for littler ones, maybe 8 and under so my teen boys did not ride them. There are vendor trucks and few restaurants on the pier, but so many more to the sides of the pier off the beach and just over the pier bridge. I loved that you could sit on the beach and get great pics of the pier from it. We put our feet in the water, but there were many people swimming and boarding ...but it was cold water as expected! There are so may great pic opportunities everywhere you go here.
We walked around, sat on the beach for 45 mins and enjoyed lunch outside. Were were here for about 2 1/2 hrs. I could have stayed longer!
I hope the details in my review were helpful.
