After Anaheim and Vegas we felt like we had come home. This is the 4* accommodation we love. Beautiful reception area with heaps of couches and seats just to sit and relax and checkin was a breeze. Very friendly and gave our children (7 & 9) a kite each for the beach, some lollies and from 4-5pm everyday there is free icecream. Kid heaven!!! The views of the beach and pier are spectacular. Our room was lovely and clean and had plenty of space for the small amount of time we were in it. The kids LOVED the TV in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, rooms were very quiet so we had great sleep. The bathroom had all the amenities you need. We had a view of the pier from our room which was great to watch the ferris wheel at night. We had breakfast daily at the restaurant and the food was beautiful. They catered very well for the kids and gave them activity sheets and crayons every day. We had 2 meals there for dinner and again food was sensational. We ate 2 nights in the casual area just off the lobby and the kids loved sitting on the couch eating. The food again was beautiful. After all the fatty food in Anaheim and Vegas we were craving REAL fresh food and Loews certainly did not dissapoint. We really didn't find a need to eat out at night and we found the prices to be good. All staff are very friendly and love to have a chat which was so nice as we got know a bit about the American people. The kids loved the pool (too cold for me) and we all loved the spa. We were just across the street from the beach and a 5 minute walk to the pier. It was an awesome location. I had a massage which was fantastic and the change rooms have everything you need so you could have a sauna and shower and even dry your bathers. There was free WiFi but only in the lobby. I cannot say anything bad about this place. We absolutely LOVED IT and the kids were very sad to leave. It was nice to go to a luxury hotel like this and they are so welcoming to the kids. We regret that we only had 5 nights here.

This was a return trip to this hotel, and we were not disappointed. The service was outstanding, from check in to check out. We had a room with a furnished patio and it was perfect. We had several spa services, the facial was excellent and my husband said it was the best massage he'd ever had. Last year we stayed at a different hotel, but having come back to the Loew's, this is where we will stay from now on when we visit. Brittany at the front desk and Fernando at the front door are excellent employees, and certainly the kind of people making a terrific first impression of the property. The sushi at sunset in the bar was great, the restaurant was a little disappointing, but there are many excellent options very nearby. The public spaces are great, the lobby is one of my favorites of any hotel, the small private seating areas are lovely.

Room Tip: The rooms with the furnished patios are great!

Loews Santa Monica provided exceptional service for what we thought were very fair prices. From the room to the coffee bar to the poolside menu, we never once felt like we were being price gouged. The views of the hotel are outstanding, the staff was exceptional. I'm sorry we didn't stay at a Loews on other legs of our trip. We will definitely return to Loews.

This past weekend my wife and I stayed at the Loews Santa Monica. This was a two night three day stay at what is advertised as a 5 star property in the Los Angeles Area. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very competent staff especially the parking staff and bell-men. We arrived a little bit early and were told our room was not ready yet.

Check-in is at 4:00 pm and it was 3:30 pm. The fact our room was not ready is not an issue or at least it wasn't an issue until later. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Beach so a few minutes looking at the water from their fantastic pool area wasn't too hard to take. A Bloody Mary was the perfect means for a quick mood adjustment after our 4 hour car ride. About 4:07 I received a telephone call on my cell that our room had been completed and checked by a management level staff person. We received our keys to toom 847. 847 is billed as a "Luxuary" room with an ocean view. It was a luxuary room and it had the most fantastic view you could ask for. You could see 180 degrees of water, the Santa Monica Pier and other beach sites. This should have been the start of a remarkable stay don't you think?

Things began to go down hill when my wife tried to open the closet. The door latch fell off. I happened to unhook the safety latch on the sliding glass door to our balcony when the safety latch almost fell off because3 of the 4 screws holding it in place were missing. Next my wife needed some privacy in the bathroom. She attempted to close a sliding door and couldn't get it to budge. It took both of us to get the door to slide.

At that point I should have called down to the reception desk and complained but didn't have time as we were leaving the hotel to meet some people. When we returned it was late and we turned in for the night. The next day we left early to drive to another part of Los Angeles to spend Fathers Day with family. While we were there, I began to tell my story to the people in the room. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a nephew of mine typing quickly into his Iphone. While typing he asked me the name of the hotel and our room number? It turns out he is friends with someone working for Loews in a managerial position.

My nephew said we would hear something soon. Sure enough when we got back to the people were busy fixing this things. Offers to move us to another room and various credits for this and that. At the end of the day everything was fixed. The manager Randy Elam couldn't have been more gracious and the balance of the stay couldn't have been nicer.

The only other issue deals with the morning we were to check-out. A little after 8:15 in the morning we heard a knock at our door asking when we would be checking out? At 8:15??? Give me a break! No 5 star hotel in the world would send someone around asking when we would be out of our room especially not on a monday morning.

Dear Cruiser Deluxe,

Thank you for taking the time to share the details of your stay with us. We are sorry to hear of the condition of the latches and bathroom door in your guestroom. We assure you this is not the norm and are glad they were repaired to your satisfaction. We are also delighted to hear that the remainder of your stay was positive. We apologize for the interruption the morning of your check-out, as this is not our standard practice. We have shared your experience with management to ensure this is not a recurring issue. Thanks again for your comments, we truly appreciate the feedback.

This hotel is right on the sea front of Santa Monica with great views of the pier and beach. The rooms are large and comfortable with huge beds. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. The hotel does provide the luxury it says.

We are local Southern Californians and stayed at the Loews Santa Monica for a one night getaway. It was a perfect experience, within minutes of arrival we felt as if we were on a luxury resort vacation. From the front desk staff to the pool attendants to the gift shop staff to the restaurant staff, everyone we encountered was efficient, friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our suite overlooking the Pacific was spectacular. Honestly we could barely tear ourselves from the room to enjoy the beach, pool, food and nearby shopping. Thank goodness we did, as we enjoyed a dinner on the property, with a gorgeous view next to a roaring fire, that was delicious from start to finish. We could not recommend this hotel more enthusiastically.
