Steaks came with 3 different dipping sauces which was fun. Prices were around $33 for just the steak - everything else was a la carte. We had the roasted potatoes.

This restaurant was recommended by some Argentinean friends in Las Vegas. They literally drooled over the place….they were 100% correct!!

We are a well travelled party of four, all employed in the hospitality industry. We unanimously agreed that we have never been served by a more enthusiastic staff in our travels. They were happy to take care of our every need including those of our gluten free companion.

Cocktails were served promptly. Our server recommended red and white wines. The red was perfect. Although there was nothing wrong with the white wine it simply was not to our taste. We did not say anything yet the server whisked the bottle away and replaced it with a bottle of Chardonnay that we had asked about earlier. It was a gesture that signified we were in the right spot.

We ordered several appetizers including the soup of the day, empanadas, veal sweetbreads and Matambre Argentino, a cold beef dish….all excellent. For dinner the Paella was memorable, a generous serving, plenty for two. We also ordered the fish of the day, grilled sea bass; a variety of steaks, skirt, flat iron, and tenderloin. One served with bacon, oyster mushrooms and gorgonzola. Another with fried eggs; the tenderloin with a Malbec reduction. All steaks are served with three traditional Argentinean dipping sauces; they were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Try the asparagus egg vinaigrette and creamed corn with bacon. We were delighted, the fun, attentive staff shared our glee throughout the dinner. The flan for dessert is a must.

We passed on reservations we had for another restaurant the following evening to return Ushuaia. Again we were treated royally …ditto all of the above.

The food at this restaurant is very good. The steak was excellent and the special fish was nicely prepared and presented. Our waitress was young and inexperienced and asked us if we were ready to order three times before our drinks arrived; drinks, in fact, that were not what we requested. The restaurant itself was designed by an architect with no sense of space. The waiting area is tiny and the room itself seems dark and claustrophobic.
Pros: good food, street and valet parking.
Cons: irritating non-sensical atmosphere, inexperienced waiters, high prices.

We have enjoyed dinner at Ushuaia several times, always in a group of 5 or more. Each time, the food has been delicious, every dish a hit with everyone at the table. You might say they specialize in their Argentine steaks, which 3 in our group ordered, are excellent. They also offer a variety of other dishes. My wife's salmon was perfect. I ordered the Pollo de Campo (farm chicken), and it was superb. The preparation, sauces and garnishes are fantastic. If you have a good appetite, try the humita side, empanadas or carpaccio appetizers, and save room for crepes de dulce de leche for dessert!

The ambience is tasteful and casually elegant. Service is very good. Reservations are recommended. Prices are fairly high, so be prepared (we spent $50 per person, including dessert and wine for 2 of the 5).

We went 2 couples for dinner, had fantastic enpanadas to start, then salmon and a great Paella as main dish. As dessert we had the dulce de leche panqueques that are glorious. Service was great. We will be back many times. Easy to Park, they have Valet or if you don't mind walking a block you will find your own.
