Looking for a friendly Tuscan restaurant? Rosti in Santa Monica is the place. The cuisine is very Italian, the setting is like an Italian Osteria where you bring your own wine or beer (yes it is BYOB as long as it is wine or beer) the seating is close to everyone, and you really feel like you are family when there. We had a large party of 9 and everyone had something different so we could try the varied fare. Needless to say, all the dishes were very good. The deserts were also authentic and quite good. They serve LavAzza Coffee and if you enjoy a GOOD cup of coffee, don't leave without having at least one cup. The only down side is the parking; street parking only and you may have to park a few blocks away. But the stroll is worth it.

I met with friends for dinner who live in the neighborhood and regularly dine here. We at al fresco and had a lovely dinner. The menu consists of roasted meats, pizzas and home-made pastas. My roasted chicken (cooked under a brick) was simple and unseasoned, as were the potatoes and spinach that accompanied it. I was underwhelmed, but I am sure that if I were more familiar with the place I could order dishes to be more customized to my liking.

Known for satisfying meals flavored with a tuscan spin, if you are hungry for hearty, this is your choice. The roasted chicken is perfect, their roasted vegetables (any season) are mmm-mmm good, and the spinach, basil and pine nut salad is a must have. Service is great! Price is on the higher side, but this is chicken perfection. If you want to get a great, easy satisfying take-home meal, call ahead. Also great for panini!

Great neighborhood restaurant frequent by movie people living in Santa Monica. Great value, especially when you're hungry. The Pollo Al Mattone (roasted chicken) is great and so is the pizza. The Tiramisu is absolutely fantastic! Although the Santa Monica location is not licensed, in the past, they did allow to bring in your own bottle of wine, but check with Inga Conveniently, there is a liquor store kitty-corner from the restaurant. Great food & service at a good value! You will not be disappointed.

From the moment we were greeted by Inga until she brought the bill we were in heaven. Now, we arrived early and so we didn't experience any of the service issues others reference. Still, this place was really fantastic.

There's something for everyone on the regular as well as the "secret" menu. Their specialty, the brick roasted chicken, is spectacular. Check out their seasonal menu also - we enjoyed the winter roasted root veggies with our entrees.

They specialize in take-out so locals can call ahead and pick up.

Our server, Inga gave us great advice in where to pick up a great bottle of red to complement our delicious dinner and was willing to discuss other places in the area that ee might enjoy.
