Great Restaurant and Bar. We loved sitting out back with the relaxed lunch atmosphere outdoors. Calamari is great, and if interested ask for the Captains Salad with Fish, Not on the menu but always available. Had the Halibut on the salad and it was wonderful. Even beat the fresh Ahi Sandwich. If your date is so inclined its enough for two to share. This gives you an excuse to get the Blackout cake for dessert.. Chocoholic's Only Please... Ask for Nancy's area, she's a peach, and you'll have some laughs along with great service!

Love the interior and menu although a but pricey. Great well stocked bar and delicious sea food! Easy parking in the back. Local hangout forever!

We all ordered steak which was all cooked to perfection. Two of us ordered the porterhouse and it came out and was definately a T-Bone, but never the less it was cooked to perfection. The veges were fresh. The atmosphere was great - would recommend sitting outside as we did. Service was great.

Overall definatly recommended!

Food is very good. We ordered steak (t bone) which was a little tough but good and cooked to perfection. Calamari for starters excellent. I ordered the halibut. With a bottle of wine it was around 120$. Not bad. However the waitress who served us thinks she should be doing something else. Ruined the evening for us, all we wanted was a 30 min gap between starter and mains but that was not something she wanted! We were told off! What a pain....

Santa Monica's Galley Restaurant is the oldest in town. Established in 1934, it has that feel that little has changed since then.

You need to have a reservation or anticipate a wait, and after eating there, it is easy to understand why. Good food, good service, unique decor and fair prices.

Entering, probably fighting through crowds since there is no "waiting area", you will see Christmas type colored lights EVERYWHERE. This is not distracting, it just adds the ambiance.

Hostesses and serve staff are very personable. Fun, funny (if you give them a chance), and helpful.

This is a tightly packed place; lots of tables and booths, close together. If you want a very intimate and remote setting, this is probably not the place. On the other hand, if food and service is a priority, this is a good choice.

Dinner for four with drinks was beach priced, and quality/quantity was excellent.

There were a number of families with kids, but with the ambient noise level, this was not a problem.

Overall, if you are looking for good food, in a very unique setting (remember, it is called The Galley... like boat galley), this is worth visiting.
