“The perfect B & B!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We stayed here 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The B & B is amazing from the décor to the service! The breakfasts were fresh and wholesome whether it be fruits or baked cakes. The location is perfect, only a 5 minute walk to the beach. There are 2 or 3 lovely (and affordable) restaurants on the same street too. The hotel provide complimentary wine and snacks during the afternoon and also provide towels and bikes too if required. The only downside is we had to pay for a romance package and I didn't feel that what we got was value for the cost of it but it was still a nice treat.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Channel Road Inn. We stayed there during our round trip in California for 2 nights. Our room was pretty and very clean. We even had a balcony. The breakfast was very good with fresh baked cakes and fresh fruits. Our hosts Danielle, Heather and Rachel were very kind and open for all kind of questions. There are bikes you can rent for free at the hotel which is great. The beach of Santa Monica is just 200 meters away from the hotel. There is complimentary water, tea and coke at any time as well as complimentary parking lots. We can definitly recomment the Channel Road Inn. If the trip wasn't that far, we would definitely come back.

Let me start by saying the hotel really is lovely - service is terrific, staff are charming and the hotel/B&B is gorgeous. All the common rooms are beautifully styled and very comfortable. The homecooked breakfast was great, free sodas and cheese and wine in the afternoon were a real treat. The downside for us is we were in room 13 round the back on the ground floor. The room was described as a Cozy Queen so i expected small but it really was small. Nowhere to store our stuff so had to walk over our bags to get around the room. Sink was also in the bedroom rather than the tiny bathroom which we didn't like too much. The bed was one of the most comfortable we slept in on our 3 week holiday which was a big plus but the room smelt very musty and damp - i did read this from another reviewer - rather off-putting to be honest. we did ask to change rooms on check in at it was too small but nothing else was available unfortunately. I also think for what we got, it was rather expensive. I would stay here again (if i got a deal for a larger room) but in a different room. The hotel is approx 2 miles from the Santa Monica pier and a rather long walk to all the bars/restaurants/main town. We walked up the hill and through the park which was very pretty. There is a great little burger place down the road called Patrick's Roadhouse - right on the freeway though so better to sit inside.

Room Tip: do not stay in room 13 or one of the small rooms - def go for a larger one.

Stayed here a few years back, and would stay here again every time! It's nestled in a gorgeous little spot and it's absolutely charming! Very clean & very comfortable bed! The wine and appetizers were fantastic along with the fresh baked cookies at your bedside! What a nice touch!

My partner and I stayed at this place knowing nothing about it and having had it booked for us. When we arrived we were quiet suprised at how nice the place looked compared to everything else we had been driven past.
Lovely gardens surround the place, Painted a nice blue color, and the fitout is just something out of a movie.
The rooms are well kept, a little small but cosy.
Breakfast is server daily by a really nice lady who works here. Its all prepared daily and feels like your visiting your grandparents and getting your fill of all your old time favorites.

The location is a little out of the way, but takes only about 30 minutes to walk to the pier and they supply bikes for use of all the patrons free of charge, so it wasnt a big deal at all!

I would recomend this place to anyone. Super friendly service, guest, and really nice atmosphere.

A lovely comfortable place to stay - also, to get out of the car and stay out of it for a while. Our room, which was lovely, had its own porch which we used for reading, coffee and drinking wine. The breakfast and hors d'ouerves were perfect.

Danielle who greeted us was lovely and gave a very nice tour. The welcome cookies were fresh and amazing. The bed was glorious.
The free bicycles, unlimited soft drinks and cheese and wine in the evenings were all lovely touches.
Breakfast was limited to an egg dish, toast/bagel, oatmeal and boiled eggs but always delicious.
The Inn itself is gorgeous, every room is different I liked peaking into each one to check out the décor.
The wifi was strong and fast.
I bought some icecream at the supermarket and they graciously stored it in the kitchen freezer for me.
The car parks are narrow, I recommend reversing in and I always needed my husband's assistance, but hey, it's free, so I'm not complaining.
I just really loved this place. It's a shame it's quite far from the city centre though so if you don't have a car, it's not a good option.
