“staying in SM”

great location for convenience of getting around SM and the surrounding areas. love the bungalows and atomsphere. have had security issues since the property is spread out and courtyard, bungalow areas are just a jump over a wall unfortunately...mgmt/security didnt seem too concerned brushed it off. on another visit left something in the room...called hours later after checkout and of course not there or turned in...fortunately that time wasn't anything too expensive...just seems to be a pattern at this location

Stayed at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel again last week and enjoyed is as much as during my previous stays.

As always the hotel stay was fantastic with the hotel staff once again delivering an outstanding customer service across the board. In particular, Azar and Amber in the Concierge are delivering truly exceptional customer service and are a real gem for the hotel. Also Linda in the Sales team is a great ambassador for the hotel and is always delivering fantastic service to the hotel guests.

The hotel is really nice and is located in what I would call the absolutely best spot in Santa Monica close to the ocean, close to shopping, close to nice restaurants and yet a few blocks away from the buzz and noise around the Pier. Fabulous little oasis in Santa Monica and LA. Additionally, the newly renovated rooms in the Ocean Tower are really cool with a super modern décor and very slick appearance.

Nice hotel, no parking so have to use valet. Room was comfortable but bathrooms to small especially showers. Double lock your door because housekeeping walks right in. Get a room with a view of ocean & at end of hall because it can get loud w/ slamming doors, staff & guest walking past.

When you plan to spend 3 nights in an expensive hotel, you do not want any setbacks. However the Fairmont Miramar Santa Monica faces a serious problem with the tower rooms that are on the south side. They must endure the noise of the restaurant-bar-disco at the street level that runs all night.
We asked room change after a bad first night and were placed in a very good north side one. No noise this time. They know they have this problem that cause suffering to their passengers. Apart from this no minor inconvenience, the hotel is still very good with spacious rooms good wifi enrolling in the President's Club, well equipped with fine amenities and great beds. Valet parking required, expensive ($ 39 plus taxes) except for members of the Club. The location of this hotel is excellent, close to the beach and steps from the 3rd street which is a panorama itself. A la carte breakfast can be as generous as you like, expensive if not included in the rate, well served by attentive waiters. The restaurant The Fig, full of life and with some very fine dishes such as cold carrot soup which is served on a bed of cucumbers and berries, delicious. They don´t put bread on the table and if you ask is charged. Overall the hotel has an intense activity, every time there are people in bars, pool and restaurant. I'd come back, but making sure a room on the north side.

Room Tip: If you choose the tower, north side, the south is noisy.

I'd stayed at the Fairmont about 20 years ago for a day or two. Other visits to Los Angeles have generally seen me stay in Santa Monica at the Huntley. My last visit (staying at the Huntley) had me wondering about the Fairmont so this time we stayed. We stayed eight nights. The rooms we great with views from the 10th floor north up to the Santa Monica Mountains and around to the east looking over the Getty.
The room was alway clean and I guess it was worthwhile ensuring that the housekeeping staff were looked after on a daily basis with a $5.00 tip.
The food in the bar and the restaurant was good. The waiters in the bar were generally good with Lupo being outstanding.
The hotel was very busy but staff managed well.
We had a car for our duration. At times the valet staff couldn't cope with the amount of traffic coming and going so I'd recommend calling for your car at least 15 minutes before you need it.
Love the Fairmont.

We arrived for five nights for a business trip and wanted to stay at a hotel on the beach. We have stayed at the Oceana down the street for the past five years but wanted to try a different hotel and American Express had offered a stay 3 nights get the 4th night free including breakfast so we decided to try it. We are Fairmont Presidents club members and were told we were upgraded to ocean front. We got into the room which was terribly tight - perhaps ok if you are staying for one night but certainly not if you are staying for 5. I showered and the hot/cold diverter kept moving. We tried the internet and it didn't work at the desk. We were running to a meeting and I asked to speak with the manager and told her our concerns. We were there for business and needed the internet. We had stayed at various Fairmonts this summer and thought they would be on par. While we were at our meeting, Stephanie Berman (I'm hoping I'm this is her name) called and told us she had some suggestions for when we returned. We would forgo the ocean front but she offered us a large suite which somehow had much better internet in the older building. The food at FIG was good. The gym was lovely. The car park was fast and efficient. It's quite a scene there as it has one of the most popular drinking spots in SM but somehow it doesn't seem to get in the way of the hotel - unless of course, your room is near the bar. Ms. Berman was incredibly professional and accommodating. We had just driven six hours and were exhausted and upset about the room and she managed to take care of it all.

Room Tip: Be careful of the bar noise. Ocean front rooms in the main hotel are very small.

My wife and I 'upgraded' ourselves to this hotel from the Oceana down the road, where we had not been happy. The Fairmont Miramar suited us much better and was actually a little cheaper, which was a nice surprise.

Our room was big enough and nicely decorated, the bathroom was nice and had very nice toiletries, and our balcony was very usable and had a great view. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the hills from our room, while drinking the bubbly and eating the chocolate covered strawberries we received as a gift from the hotel as we were on our honeymoon.

Breakfast was full service and very nice except that inside they keep the restaurant way too cold. We ate outside after the first day and that was great.

The bell and valet services are spot on and the hotel has a nice big forecourt, so I didn't feel rushed by traffic or congestion when arriving or departing.

The concierge got us a table at Chateau Marmont at short notice. Amazing.

We didn't get to take advantage of the party atmosphere of the terrace bar but it sounded like fantastic fun.

I would certainly stay here again if I got the chance.
