“Simply amazing!”

Does it really get any better than this? You kind of have to go to experience what I mean. This place lacks nothing. Beautiful rooms, great gardens, and amazing service. Do yourself a favour and stay here. To boot, you can likely get a great deal through travelzoo.

What a deal from Travelzoo! My husband and I visited San Francisco for the summer and this was just a nice side-trip! Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff. The guest rooms were clean, good size, with excellent amenities. We had dinner at John Ash Restaurant because our package deal came with a big discount and the menu selection + qualify of food + quality of service are all excellent. The grounds and garden are well manicured that you can hardly tell you're next to the freeway. It's like a little oasis in the middle of the city that did not cost us an arm and a leg...overall and excellent deal!

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, right next to a vineyard. The architecture is reminiscent of country french villas, with the hotels rooms found in separate buildings all facing on a central fountain square. Some of the rooms have fireplaces with Juliette type balconies, perfect for a glass of wine in the afternoon or coffee in the morning. The grounds are lush with a bocci ball court on the side of the property. There is also a breakfast cafe offering a buffet, or you can order a full breakfast. John Ash Restaurant, located next to but on the same property, provides gourmet meals (but at a price!). Being one of the most romantic hotels we've stayed at, we highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room overlooking the vineyard

My sister and I spent a couple of days here thanks to a Travelzoo deal. While we both enjoyed it, we agreed that we probably wouldn't choose this inn again.
The good:
Very nice grounds and facilities. Friendly, professional staff. Large, pretty room with a nice little balcony and a complimentary half-bottle of wine. Comfortable bed with LOTS of pillows. With the Travelzoo deal, we got coupons including essentially a free breakfast every day and a meal at the on-site bar/pub, both of which we enjoyed. The inn is also centrally located for touring around the Sonoma Valley -- about 20 minutes to Healdsburg and 30 or so to Sonoma. There is also an on-site fitness room, which my sister enjoyed using.

The not-as-good:
The inn only has king-sized beds, which is inconvenient if you're not traveling with your romantic partner. It's in an odd location -- close to the freeway and across from a PG&E station. The grounds are landscaped enough that you can't see either, though we could hear the freeway in the morning. It's also not walking distance to anything -- you have to drive to dinner unless you're eating in the inn's restaurant. While the facilities are nice, they're fairly new (10 years or so), so it lacks the historic quaintness of some other places in this area.

On our recent trip to Northern California we stayed at a beautiful Villa in Santa Rosa, in the Sonoma Wine Country. The Vintners Inn. It was akin to staying at a villa in europe. The large room with Fireplace and balcony was a pleasure and beautifully decorated. The grounds , surrounded by the vinyard, and adorned with fountains and flora were a pleasure to stroll through. The restaurant ( John Ash ) was reccomended and was an experience in itself. Very rarely in our travels do we find both the accomodation and the attached restaurant both to be of the highest quality. You wont be sorry here!

Room Tip: Definetly rooms on the second floor in either of the three villas. All the rooms are lovely.

We stayed here in May 2012 thanks to a Travelzoo 2-night special, otherwise we probably couldn't have afforded it this trip. My husband talked me into it and I'm SO glad he did. This place was nicer and more "boutique" than anywhere we've stayed before. We usually don't spend alot on our accommodations so we can afford to travel, but it will be hard for me not to stay here again next time we visit. We had an upstairs room which had a super high ceiling, it felt so elegant and special, and the room was large, including a sitting area with a loveseat. The little balcony and the french doors that opened out to it and the view were SO pretty, I couldn't wait to open the curtains each morning so I could see it. The bed was a little too plush for me and I was always too hot under the heavy duvet, but you can't really complain about a luxurious bed! The bathroom vanity was large, lots of room for two people, and the bathroom had a garden tub. Oh and you get turn down service at night with a cookie. :) This place is small and quiet and plush and lovely. It was a really great way to end our trip, so happy we stayed here.

The only negatives:
Our deal included breakfast both days, but after a very long wait for our food the first day, not sure we would have gone back even if we had the time. Our only other experience with food was when we stopped in at the lounge/restaurant for a drink after dinner and they let us order dessert at the bar. I wasn't super impressed with the drink or dessert menu, and that particular night the bar/lounge was dead so it wasn't any fun, but the server and bartender were very nice and the lounge itself was pretty.

Room Tip: Get a 2nd floor room if you can, the high ceiling and balcony was lovely.

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Vintners Inn and had a wonderful experience. We booked an amazing deal through travel zoo which included a $25 daily breakfast credit, a $25 credit at the bar, and tasting passes at two wineries. When we walked into the room the first thing out of my husbands mouth was "jackpot". We both love traveling and further more love staying at really nice hotels. Vintners was within a 20 minute drive to a ton of wineries and they give you a map when you checkin so you know where go. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
