Description: Sazon is Spanish for "seasoning" and synonymous with incredible Peruvian cuisine! We combine family recipes with great service for amazing dining. Peruvian cuisine is a reflection of Peru's diverse geography, immigrant cultures, and even pre-Inca recipes! With a truly unique fusion of cultures, you'll taste dishes with hints of Spanish, African, Italian, and even Asian cuisines. At Sazon, our family serves authentic Peruvian recipes passed down by our great-grandmother, Maria Olinda, who herself boasted Peruvian, African, Spanish, and Italian ancestry! We invite you to share one of our unforgettable Ceviches with a co-worker at lunch; with 7 to choose from including a classic Ceviche Mango or the Ahi Ceviche Nikei with ahi tuna, you're sure to escape your workday stresses. Or bring loved ones for dinner to indulge in the amazing Pollo a la Brasa, free-range chicken marinated with a house blend of traditional Peruvian spices! Whether you're joining us for lunch or dinner, with friends or family, we invite you to savor the unique Peruvian flavors at Sazon!

Visited Sazon for dinner. The food seemed very authentic and extremely flavorful. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The Aji de Gallina was excellent. Authentic Peruvian cuisine is what we received and the care and attention to detail was very evident. Highly recommended.

We highly recommend Sazon Peruvian Cuisine (1129 Sebastopol Rd., Santa Rosa, CA 95407, tel. 707-523-4346, www.sazonsr.com). Michele was a very good server and Juan José a very good host. We had a delicious and authentic Peruvian meal. We started with Ahi Ceviche Nikei ($14) described as ahi tuna, soy, ponzu, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, huancatay, sesame seeds, sesame oil, avocado and wonton chips. It was very tasty. With that we had one yuca frita ($7), very crisp and yummy. Our main was Arroz con mariscos ($16) described as Peruvian style paella, calamari, scallops, shrimp, clams, mussels and salsa Criolla. It too had wonderfully complex tastes. We had one foamy and delicious pisco sour ($8) and one Terra Rosa Malbec ($7) with dinner. For dessert Dimitri loved the arroz con leche ($7) and Audre loved the Lucuma ice cream ($4). Both desserts were home made. We spent $73.95 plus tip and were happy and impressed.

We went to Sazon on a recent vacation to California and were very impressed. It does not look like much from the outside and is not in a trendy part of town but man was it good! The place is very small but the staff was friendly and efficient. We had the Adobo de Chancho and the Pescado a lo Macho. The pork in the Adobo de Chancho was tender with great flavor and the broth in the Pescado a lo Macho was soooo good and it was packed with fresh shellfish. If we make it back to Santa Rosa there will definitely be a repeat visit.

So I've been to Sazon twice now and I wish I didn't live so far away! I've gotten the same dish both times ... the beef with the rice and french fries. It's absolutely delicious and it's probably a good thing that I don't live closer! I'm not typically such a meat and potatoes type of eater, but this is just too good to pass up! Make sure and get reservations if you are going for dinner because it is a small place and get's booked up quickly!

Sazon again lived up to our expectations..our reserved table was ready for us although there was a long line waiting for the small number of tables, The Choros al Vapor (mussels) were the best I have ever had. My wifes' chicken was a little dry but our friends had salmon and Arroz con pollo and loved them. Ceviche and other appetizers were excellent -- very loud but what you would expect from a small very popular restaurant you would love to find in Peru itself!
