We enjoyed the German menu items, the food tasted great. The only problem is that they have a small staff and service is somewhat slow during busy times. It is somewhat expensive, you're not going to get the value you would for the same menu items in Germany, but it's not outrageous.

The food was acceptable but that is where anything good stops. When we went in my husband explained that it was a special night, we were celebrating our 30th anniversary.

We were seated and the waiter came to get our order. I dish I wanted wasn't going to be ready for more than 30 minutes so I picked something else. 10 minutes later we were served bread then after another 20 minutes he brought our soup that he forgot. I should say, we were the only ones in the place. Another 20 minutes and we got our meals and by then there were 4 more people in the place and it appeared that they had reservations for the rest of the seating and they were putting bread on the plates and water out and they asked if we would like more bread. We said yes, we would. They finished putting bread on the plates at empty tables and never brought us any. We waited and waited some more and they seated a woman at the table next to us that had a lot of perfume on and it was making me sick, so we decided to leave without dessert.

This was a horrible experience. The 2 waiters were so busy catering to people who were expected that they totally neglected the customers they had there. We went down a few doors and had some ice cream at Baskin Robbins and bought a few things at the grocery store. Out of curiosity, we went by and looked in the window of the restaurant. After another half hour, there were 4 more customers, but they lost the two of us, and we would have bought desserts. We also cut the tip in half because of the poor service.

We had a delicious three course Oktoberfest meal last night, with great beer! Our server was so kind, very knowledgable, and extremely attentive. We will definitely be going back!

For dinner we had the Jaeger Schnitzel and Wiener Schnitzel. Both were excellent, but we had so much food (ate too many delicious rolls), that we took doggy bags and an Apple Strudel home with us. This is our third time at this restaurant, and we're always ready to return even though the restaurant is not close to where we live and we have excellent restaurants nearby. This is not a fancy restaurant and as mentioned, is tucked away in a corner, but has survived for many years. All the food is excellent, and they have many items on the menu that are not German. The night we were there, they were offering a few 3 course meals for $20.00 pp, and also had fresh Maine lobster on the menu. This restaurant caters many group events in Santa Rosa and everyone always enjoys the food. Entrees run from $18 to $26, and include wonderful rolls, and a choice of soup or salad.

We were only in Santa Rosa for a short stay but went twice because it was so good. Best Jaeger Schnitzel EVER! Wiener Schniztel also was excellent, as was the Pork Shank Osso Bucco, and Schwein Schnitzel on our first visit. Side dishes and presentation were wonderful. Apple Strudel and coffee were great too. It was a pleasure to watch the staff, including the owner, working together. We had reservations, and would recommend you do too because it is very popular with the locals and the dining room is somewhat small. We will return when in Santa Rosa again.
