“Great base for exploring wine country”
Reviewed 24 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

After 10 days at Dr. McDougall's wellness program in Santa Rosa, we had 2 1/2 days to explore wine country and wanted a home base. This 2-bedrooom cottage, attached to the owner's house was perfect. It had a great kitchen and a washer and dryer. The owners left out snacks for our arrival, a nice touch. There are vineyards all around and DeLoach allows guests to walk around among the vines for a nice morning stroll. This place is quiet, out in the country, but only 2 miles from a large grocery store. Driving distance was reasonable to go spend a day in Napa tasting wine, and return before sunset. Sonoma is also wonderful for wine touring and tasting, don't miss Korbel's free tour.
All in all, a great relaxing and quiet place for seeing the wine country.

We recently stayed 3 days at the cottage, while enjoying activities in the Santa Rosa area. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and is exactly as all the pictures show. Lynn and Roger, the owners, recently remodeled the cottage, which is a part of their large property. The furnishings and finishings are designer quality and the cottage is equipped with everything for a short or lengthy stay, even books, DVD's, and games. There is a king bed in the master and 2 twins in the second bedroom. There is a small apt. sized washer/dryer, also, and the kitchen is equipped with all that one needs and then some!! We appreciated the fact that we didn't have to even buy paper goods! Lynn left us a lovely basket of cookies, bread, crackers/cheese also. The patio had a large gas grill with a nice patio table to sit outside and enjoy the evening. The location was perfect for us. There were plenty of wineries in the area, and it was a short drive to the coast or north to enjoy the hiking in the parks around Guerneville. It was just out Guerneville Rd. far enough to be out of Santa Rosa, but close enough to get to a grocery store or restaurant. We will definitely be back and would chose this cottage over a hotel any day! Thanks Lynn and Roger for a wonderful stay!
