Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country
Ranked #5 of 25 Hotels in Santa Rosa
Reviewed 18 March 2014

Stayed at the Hyatt in Santa Rosa for the proximity to wine country and the ability to walk to Russian River Brewing. The staff provided assistance as needed: directions, wine glasses, and plates and forks. The room was a decent size, the beds comfortable, and the shower okay. The ability to walk outside and have a glass of wine by the fire was a bonus. Didn't take advantage of the patio furniture, but had it been warmer, that would have been a great spot for morning coffee or tea.

Room Tip: Ask for a first floor room with a patio and access to the fireplace.

The service here was great. Initially, I was irritated with them because I had booked a hotel room with a patio and they emailed 3 days before to say they didn't have one but would give us free breakfast at La Brasserie next door. That turned out to be a better deal. The concierge helped me plan out a couple days of wine tastings and gave excellent tips plus coupons for free tastings. My only other trip to wine country, we stayed at a St. Helena inn that was twice as expensive and the concierge did nothing but give us the wrong directions to dinner. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Santa Rosa is nothing special but it's well located for touring Sonoma County wineries.

Stayed here two nights on business. Can't comment on location. As a frequent traveler, you expect a certain experience at a Hyatt. This place seemed a little sub-par to me. The front desk was great, room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. But the sink was clogged, the desk/electric was out of date, the hallways run down. Had trouble ordering room service and the breakfast was delivered cool. Not a bad experience but just not what you expect from Hyatt.

Stayed here one night in a King Patio room. The staff was fantastic and it's a beautiful hotel. The location is great, very close to some great restaurants and my personal highlight of Santa Rosa, Russian River Brewing. Ordered breakfast from room service, the food was fantastic, and delivery was prompt. I'll stay here again next time we visit.

We had a meeting in the board room of the conference center. The service from the staff was great and lunch provided was very good. All in all a great value. I'll stay here again next time I visit.

We came with a group of 8 for a company trip. It was booked thru Delta vacations so we hoped they recommended a good spot. Prior to getting there we emailed the concierge and he ( Ryan ) sent us a great list of restaurants and wineries to visit. Once we arrived he helped with activity reservations and even got us reservations at Flavor - which normally does not take reservations #walkrightpast2hrwaits. The rooms are nice, clean and in good shape - not 5 star but we didn't intend of staying in the rooms for anything other than sleeping. Patio rooms are great - you can walk right out to the fire pit from your room - ask for those ahead of time. The attach restaurant had excellent breakfast/brunch and lunch food. Dinner was average. But their staff at the restaurant was off the hook great - all of them! Spa was fair to warm for me but other people in the group were really happy with massages. Many services seems overpriced - Mani/pedi's were really over priced. Location of the hotel is ideal. We had plenty of food options within one block distance - all food in the area that we tried was very good. I'd recommend this hotel for a group or business group. Romantic weekend it could be fun but I might opt for a more cozy option like the boutique Hotel La Rosa down the street if for an anniversary or special event. Overall we liked it and would consider it on another trip to Santa Rosa.

Room Tip: Friday night wine tastings, 5-7. Concierge has discounts so ask for assistance. Staff is over the...

We enjoyed a one night stay at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa on the occasion of a belated overnight birthday getaway for my husband so he could enjoy the new Graton Casino. The hotel was the best part of the getaway. Outside the lobby entrance is a great statue of Lucy (of "Peanuts" fame - this is Charles Schultz territory after all) which is used for all manner of photo opps. Lobby had dispensers with strawberry and cucumber flavored water which was a nice change and hint of good things to come in the spa. In the morning there was complimentary coffee in the lobby too. Rooms were comfortable, quiet and clean. Amenities were also better than usual and earth conscious. The on-site spa was an extra bonus and though small it is well set up. We had a superb massage therapist who took all our aches and pains away. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant but hope to when we return for another visit to the area.

Room Tip: Ask to face courtyard or pool.

Had a great stay with a friend while we were celebrating our birthdays in Wine Country. Despite the rain we had a wonderful time and the Concierge was very helpful as the front desk. Food was delicious in the restaurant and we had a wonderful Eggs Benedict with a crabcake for brunch. It was just so good! Super duper happy hour if you can get in before the cut-off. We enjoyed the spa and each had facials. Glad that there was a fitness center, but they need to beef it up a little more. We stayed at "The Embassay" in Napa and it had better working equipment. Overall it was a very nice experience. One little tip to the gal in the restaurant, if there is not a crowd of people, don't seat people in the half a booth. It just is not comfortable, we asked to move and were accommodated, it is a common sense thing when it is after the rush and a slow time.
