“Like the Motel 6”
Reviewed 14 September 2010

we just stayed here, on our way to a bussiness meeting in San Francisco. OMG! 4 diamond award!!???!!! I was shocked that the Hyatt would even attach their name to this place!! they should be ashamed. This place was as bare bones as a Motel 6! We are hotel snob's, we stay at them at least once a month. This place had no pictures on the wall. the walls were painted a horrible shade of pink. the tub drain was not working properly. They did spend some money to put nice granite and bath fixtures in the bathroom, but the rooms were lack luster. No head boards...weird. the furniture looked old and beat up. Don't order room service off the menu provided, because it hasn't been updated in 15 years, so everything we asked for was not avalible. NO NO NO....never gonna stay here again. the worst Hyatt ever. We have stayed at the one in Disneyland and Key west..wow! can't believe its the same chain

People where friendly and helpfull. Some good recommendations from the front desk and the concierge.
Rooms are standard. Good aircondition, good TV - NO mini bar, NO refrigerator. Internet extra. Internet in business center very expensive..
Perfect location to visit the area. Also perfect to go out in the evening. Everything in walking distance.

I booked weeks in advance at a pay-in-full, non-refundable rate. Two weeks later the rate for the one night had decreased $40. I could not believe they wouldn't refund the difference ("we clearly state the rate is subject to change" - true, but if the rate is subject to decrease, what is the incentive to pay in advance non-refundable? It's not the stock market! This logic was completely lost on the customer service rep). I also complained to the hotel manager, who promised to get back to me but never did. The hotel itself is okay - not great - and the restaurant is very depressing. There are very few channels on the TV, probably to encourage you to buy pay-per-view. Also they nickel-and-dime you for everything ($6 to use an internet terminal for 15 minutes?? Every other business-class hotel offers it free). After this experience, I will never stay in a Hyatt hotel again.

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days in this hotel and were very impressed with the hotel and staff. We requested a room with the firepit view and enjoyed the cleanliness and quality of the room, lovely linens and fluffy towels. The hotel is in a quaint section of the town -
Railroad Square - with wonderful restaurants. It is an ideal location if you want to traverse wine country. Our first day we traveled to Napa, Yountville, and Calistoga stopping in Rutherford at L'Auberge de Soleil for a nice lunch overlooking the valley. The second day we went up to Healdsburg and many vineyards. The third day was spent in Sonoma. It was all wonderful.

I had read the reviews and was a little leary, but I have been very pleased with this hotel. You can easily walk to many restaurants, it offers easy access to the highway to visit the wine region. The room was spotless and offered a very peaceful nights sleep.
I don't know that I would be interested in spending the extra money for a courtyard room. Our room faced the side street and I did not hear any noise from the highway.
We booked a room with 2 beds and that is what we got. Our room is nicely furnished (there are vineyard pictures on the walls). It is a business class hotel.

I can't believe all the positive reviews for this hotel. On every occasion, this hotel has failed the most basic of services - making and securing a reservation. The staff must be on meth because they will tell you two different things, and then claim that "no one from this hotel would say that". Yeah right. This happened with 20 people in our wedding party: No rooms available to one person, and yet another can make a reservation. They have two different numbers (one for general reservations and one for wedding parties) and they don't communicate to each other or know anything about the other! Unbelievably bad service. I've had a great stay at other Hyatt locations in San Francisco, but this one is utter garbage.

I've also never seen a "luxury" hotel without a single painting or photo on the walls in the "suites"....just plain white walls. What is this, a dorm room? It's like they tried to design an upper class hotel but failed miserably.

All the negative reviews are true. The leaf blower in the morning, directly outside our window, is also true. Obviously the manager didn't listen to another poster here that complained because they still do it.

Do yourself a favor an stay somewhere else - anywhere else but here.

And to add insult to injury, they charge you 10 bucks a day for internet access in your room. Even the Sleazy 8 gives you free Internet. Are you listening, Hyatt corporate?

We had a courtyard room and we were awakened to the blasts of a gas leaf blower in a confined courtyard. The general manager said he was sorry but we were the first people to ever complain. Hard to believe. Stay away if you want a good nights rest.
