Booked tonight in Sonoma, a busy weekend. Price and photos on internet site would lead you to believe this is a 4 star resort/spa destination. Ha! Surprise. Price is, but accomodations look like 1980s. Dark drab old. If anywhere else had a room, I would be gone!!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We do try and promote our resort to entice travelers with the best value in Santa Rosa. We offer a 8000 square foot Health Club facility with 5 tennis courts and two heated 25 meter swimming pools. Our resort does offer live entertainment and on site dining serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We do try and offer 4 star service and be the lowest price of any other hotel with our 3 star rating in Santa Rosa.

Ruth was so nice and welcoming! She went out of her way in making sure our stay was exceptional (even upgraded our room free of charge!). She also gave us information on things to do while in Santa Rosa, specifically the free Easter Egg Hunt at the Charles Schulz museum, which we took the kids to (super fun and ran into Ruth again, she was volunteering). Thank you Ruth for your kindness and hospitality! :-)

I stayed here for a business trip. When I pulled in and saw the flamingo sign I was intrigued. I like the old fashioned things some places have. The check in was simple. The layout was unique. The exterior of the place looked great. It looked like they recently renovated. There are lots if big trees on the property. The room was very nice and quiet. The restaurant was good. The conference room we used was nice, coffee and refreshments were good. You can walk to quite a few places and most things are just a quick drive away. The grounds of the hotel are excellent. The staff was courteous and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel recently and there are some nice bits. The food for breakfast although continental is tasty and a good choice, the lobby is pretty and their is a spa but, the hotel looks so out of date its stuck in a 1950s time warp! The bright pink sign when you arrive is garish to say the least and the rooms in truth ive seen better in a travelodge! The bathroom was the size of an airplane toilet! Plus location isnt great it's a hike or taxi ride to get anywhere. Needs renovations!

Dear dh174,
Thank you very much for staying at the Flamingo Hotel and for your comments following your stay. The Flamingo Hotel was built in the early 50's and we have finished another renovation updating our guest rooms that were just completed the end of March. Johnathan Rachman, Interior designer from San Francisco has just put the final touches on 60 rooms and has elevated these rooms to Superior Room Types. Our Executive King wing has 34 rooms with oversized bathrooms that provides an option for guests that require larger space. Our location is only 1.5 miles from downtown and is walking distance to Montgomery Village shopping that offers 100 shops and restaurants, CVS pharmacy and Safeway grocery store are adjacent to the hotel. We hope you have a chance to visit us again and please let me know so I can make your arrangements personally to ensure you get a taste of our new Superior Rooms or Executive King room with oversized bathrooms.

The only thing included in your room rate is Free Parking!
This in my opinion is the worse managed hotel I've ever stayed in. Two comments from the front desk staff really told me what they are all about.
When I asked why we have to pay for the exercise room, I was told "in order to keep prices lower we are a la carte".
Really they are much more expensive than Fountaingrove Inn (see my review) and Fountaingrove is far superior. They are almost exact same price as Doubletree in Rohnert Park and Doubletree is incredible, see my review. A little further away is Sheraton in Petaluma (see my review).
The other comment when I asked about the cost of wifi $7.00 per day per device I was told "you have choices", unfortunately for me I got this on Priceline and could not change my reservation. But if your reading this you have a choice, and I would never stay here again.
As for quality this hotel was built in the 50's and the outside looks nice but the rooms are at BEST 2 star, the bathrooms are tiny even by 2 star standards. The bathroom amenities are terrible, if your stuck here bring your own.
The pool has a huge sign saying "for use by registered guests only" then right around the corner there's another sign saying "pool reserved 3:30 - 5:30 daily for swim club". So in the heat of the day you cannot use the pool. They have swim lanes set up all the time. There is no service that I saw at the pool so not sure why they call this a "resort". The hot tub has unbearable amounts of chlorine, you really need to have a bath after using the hot tub.
This property is really a base for the Spa services NEXT DOOR, you can't use the exercise/spa unless you pay $12 per day per person. I thought 3 star hotels had to include an exercise room? Actually most 2 star properties now include one.
There are numerous Spa day guests coming and going all day and evening. That parking lot is almost always full. I would guess they make more from the Spa than from the hotel.
Stay anywhere but here, I've given you 3 choices and as stated by the front desk "you have choices"!

Room Tip: Go to Fountaingrove in Santa Rosa or Doubletree in Rohnert Park, you will not be disappointed.

Hi Downey, thank you for your very valuable feedback. Our Wi-Fi has been upgraded significantly recently to cover our entire 10 acre hotel. And it is now free to all hotel guests for all devices.

Regarding the Montecito Heights Racquet Club, it is a private 8000 square foot gym with boxing classes, tennis classes, yoga, spin, Zumba, and much more. There's private daycare available as well. It is one of the premier Health and Racquet Clubs in Sonoma County. To our knowledge, all Gyms of this caliber have a day pass. However, the Montecito Heights Racquet Club is run and managed independently.

Regarding selective closure of the pool, I would like to say on behalf of the hotel, that our pool has been compared against the other pools in the area quite favorably. While it has changed over the years, the grounds surrounding are over 5 acres, by far the largest in the area. It is also heated year round. Another rarity.

We're very sorry you found your stay to be less than you had expected. We couldn't help notice that you booked through Priceline. Guests who book through our website have a special offering from the Montecito Heights Racquet Club. They get in for free.

This resort is in a nice area which has access to paths for hiking. The staff was pretty nice and accommodating. Place was clean and we loved the amenities they had to offer. The pool is very big & well maintained. I will recommend this place to friends.

My niece's wedding reception/baby shower was held at this resort and it was quite delightful. She had a sit down dinner and dancing for 200; the room was plenty large enough, the food (a Mexican buffet) was hot and delicious; the catering and bar staff were very helpful and pleasant. The rooms at the resort were fairly standard but clean and large - we had a king bed with a pull out sofa that three of us stayed in comfortably. The bathroom was large and clean. 30 of us met for breakfast the following morning in the café and they handled our large party, even though they did not know we were coming, very efficiently.
