The rooms are not great. We stayed three nights in a Queen Suite, most of the receptacles didn't work. We had a hard time finding a place to charge of phones. The day we checked in there was no coffee, tea, etc. The room was also missing the coffee pot. We had the coffee maker but that was it. The maid service was awful. One afternoon we returned about 3pm to get ready for a wedding and our room wasn't even done. About 3:45pm someone came to make up the room but because we were getting ready we had to turn them away and they never came back even though we left at 4:15pm and never returned until 11pm. When my daughter opened the sofa bed it was full of food crumbs. We did call down about this and it was taken care of right away. The thing is it should not been left that way to begin with. I have never been in a hotel where they charged you to use there gym. $15.00 for use of the gym. The pool is very nice and the service in the restaurant was great. There is even a lost key charge of $100.00.

Dear Terry M,
Thank you for your comments and we are sorry for any inconvenience you had here in regards to your room. We are hopeful that the receptacles that are not working have been reported and fixed. We have passed along your comments to our housekeeping department to ensure coffee items have not been missed and our sofa beds are cleaned after each stay. We do charge for use of the Montecito Heights Health Club which is a private 8000 square foot facility and is a private membership club. We are not sure about the $100 lost key policy unless it pertains to a lost key for one of our safety deposit boxes. We are hopeful that you will return and I can make the arrangements personally to compensate for your experience you had here.

The Flamingo is a nice place to relax, have lunch or dinner at. We stayed for three nights, the room was nicely decorated, the hotel grounds are well maintained. Pool is very large and the spa/gym are in the back of the hotel property. We ate dinner there two of the nights - service was fantastic! The location is within walking distance to shopping and even a grocery store.

I spent the night at the Flamingo, for a turn-around trip. I stayed here once before, approximately 5 years ago and enjoyed my stay, so, when considering hotels, it was my first choice. I was given room 329, which is newly remodeled. The decore is very modern and comfortable, but, there was an obvious tobacco smell in the room. Upon pulling back the comforter, when preparing for bed, I noticed that the sheets were stained. I called the front desk for new sheets, which were promptly delivered to me. The tobacco smell eventually became overwhelming, so, I marched to the front office to discuss my options. The manager, Stephen Craig, was amazing. He listened empathetically, and seemed more than willing to help me. He changed my room to one that was odorless and fresh, with a clean bed.

The hotel is aesthetically beautiful. The prices are reasonable, however, you get what you pay for. I'm not sure if I will return to the Flamingo, but, the customer service was so impressive, that I have not completely ruled another visit.

Stayed here for two nights - nice large room with good bathroom and amenities. Free wifi was a bonus. Hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature trees and the late 50's decor has been revamped and looks chic and contemporary. Staff all helpful and the pool is fabulous - great to swim in and to lounge by. Highly recommend for a few days relaxation. We had spa treatments which were great but very expensive. Don't miss the Peanuts statues in the grand lobby.

Room Tip: Overlooking the pool may be noisy during the day - other rooms overlook parking but are quieter.

Really enjoyed staying at the Flamingo. Met friends for the day around the pool, drank wine from local wineries that our host had visited, had a delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant and then enjoyed the hot tub. Very nice resort feel with lovely grounds, spacious updated rooms and comfy beds complete with nice linens and plenty of pillows. It was a beautiful summer day with lots of families around the pool and teens converging on the hot tub at night. The restaurant had good choices for dieters and diabetics. Our hosts had been there before and particularly loved the comfortable beds. I also slept very well after such a pleasant day and evening. Mari R.

We stayed at the Flamingo two weeks ago in a nice, large room. It was a designated room for people with mobility problems. We had a lovely view of the parking lot. I usually don't rate hotels, but I felt I needed to post that the beds were horribly uncomfortable. We could feel metal springs and ended up sleeping on top of the bed cover and even then it was a difficult sleep. I mentioned it to the front desk during a call about another issue and they didn't offer an explanation or a solution. I hope they made note of my comment. On the other hand, the grounds are beautiful and the art deco '60's exterior was nostalgic. The food was mediocre at best.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry you found your bed to be uncomfortable and wish we could have moved you to another room. All of our beds have recently been upgraded. In fact, twice since your stay.

Stayed here recently as part of a wedding party.

The Flamingo is a large remodeled resort style hotel/motel. The rooms are in five 2 story buildings that all surround a large pool area. Near the pool area is also the bar and a lounge. That being said, it was really fun for our wedding party since it was basically a pool party at night time. However, I can see how if you were a guest not part of the festivities it could be really loud.

Service was pretty good- check in/out was easy. Staff nice and accommodating.

Location- a couple miles away from downtown Santa Rosa and only about 15 min away from some of the northern Sonoma wineries such as those in the Kenwood area. There's a CVS right now door if you need anything. Gas station is also right there.

Only con for us was that there's no free wifi- it was $6.99 a day. In this day an age, free wifi should really just be apart of every hotel. I thought that was pretty lame.

Overall, good for groups, parties, families. Wouldn't stay here if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing low key time.

Room Tip: Rooms in building 100 might be the noisy since its closer to the bar area
